Does the lid, "click" into place or just sit on top? Looking to put a tarantula in it sheet doing some holes.

It fits on the top inside and would work for spiders. We have had others do the same and put holes in the lid.

What is the thickness of the acrylic the box is made from? I want to make a overflow box for a reef tank from it.

I measured it at 1/8". It might work for overflow, but I can easily make the sides flex when putting pressure, so it's not the sturdiest, but if simply holding water that probably won't matter.
