Cool Touch Comfort Cushion - Color may vary

Got the CoolTouch yesterday. It feels hard as a rock. But when I started "heating up" in bed last nite, this thing really works. I sleep on my side, and simply put it under my shoulder/torso area. Very cool, lasts for hours. (Have previously used a Chillow, which works similarly well but is VERY heavy, and after a few months, started leaking out of the valve. I had several Chillows, but they got sort of moldy/funky inside, and every one eventually leaked. They worked great up to that point. Then I bought one of the thinner gel filled pads. That works fantastically, at first. But a couple hours later you wake up and realize it feels like you are lying on a stovetop! The heat that is sucked out of your body just keeps building up and the small amount of gel cannot disperse the heat very well, so the pad becomes very hot!) Love the way this works, it softened up a bit after a while, I think (fell asleep). But I am VERY ANNOYED with the fact that the seller promotes this as something which is 19-1/2" x 15", when the true size is closer to 17-1/2" x 14". SEE PHOTOS. That is a 20% difference in total square inches, and MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I get very very angry with this sort of thing, as I have found several online sellers that tend to misrepresent the size of their products when it behooves them to do so. Why do that? It just makes you look BAD!!

I completely love this product. I run a bit hotter than most. When I shopped for my car, the salesman wanted to tell me about the model that had heated (but not cooled seats), and I told him I was only interested in the one that had cooling. Heated seats are oppressive. I already have a heated seat 365 days a year, because my body generates too much heat as it is. So working in shared workspaces where I can't directly control the thermostat leads to me being hot and sweaty at work pretty much all the time. This thing is amazingly cool to sit on, and I'm so much more comfortable now at work than ever before! Life changing is probably too strong a phrase for a pad that cools your bum, but with how uncomfortable I always felt before on a daily basis, and how much more comfortable I feel now, it seems appropriate to use here.I saw some comments complaining about seals, and haven't had any issues with mine yet, although it's only been about a week. I'm also on the light side, 145 lb. But I love mine enough that I've ordered two, one for my bum and one for my lower back, to use in the three different areas I work, for a total of 6 cooling pads. I could cart them around but in the summertime I don't think you'd want these in the back of a very hot car, so I just bit the bullet and picked up a bunch now. But it's been worth every penny for me so far!

I spend 4-5 hours a day sitting in my chair studying. My chair gets so hot regardless of the A/C temperature of the house, I just collect heat during these sessions. This cushion is the best tool I have come across since I bought a book stand to save me from neck strain-- wait, this might be better-- I can go on marathon study sessions now and stay in the zone without any distracting heat and sweat accumulating underneath me (yeah TMI but consider what this product is preventing! "Study-Butt!") The cushion is like a gel ice pack in texture, has a little heft and runs as wide as my standard office chair.I imagine taking this with me on long car trips and not having to fidget to keep my backside cool! I saw a review that said something about the seam coming apart but this seems like pretty sturdy construction, nothing leaks out whatsoever. I don't fathom it could-- I think I would have popped it (I'm 6' @ 200 lbs) were it shoddily built.NOTE: It does state that the weight maximum is 300 lbs though, just a heads up!Overall I see myself using this cushion every single day I have to sit down. Students should not even hesitate! Get this now if you've got to blast through that novel this weekend before the test!

This is a good product and does what it claims to do, cool your bottom. When left to "recharge" in low 70 degrees it becomes little crystal beads, so it would give a bit when sat on. But, when left in low to mid 60 degrees, it would become more solid, but a few moments sitting on it, it would start the crystallize. The main problem (I returned the item) was the edges of the cushion looks like it was heat sealed about a 1/4 inch right around the cushion. So when sitting on it in a wheelchair the cushion would curl a bit just by the corners and in about two weeks it began to leak and left a white residue on the side of the armrests. This IS a good product and does what it claims to do, but construction should be more like a gel cushion.

Of the three I've had this is the best cooling cushion so far.1. It doesn't get big, lumpy, hard chunks when it re-crystalizes2. Cooling lasts all night3. Cover doesn't stick to skin too badly. (This is always going to be a compromise between heat transfer-ability and skin feel.)4. Edges aren't too sharp, as long as it doesn't get bunched up it's OK.5. Filling has to occasionally be redistributed to prevent thin and thick areas.Review Update (July 2012)It's starting to develop bigger, hard chunks when it recrystalizes after a few months of regular use. But it's still much better than any other cooling cushion I've used.

I have MS, which is heat sensative, and frequently have hot flashes at night. I needed something that could quickly cool me off and other products seemed to have problems with dampness, which I don't want to deal with when I'm trying to sleep! This product is just what I needed! It stays cool for hours! Our house is on a concrete slab (so the floor is always below 70 degrees), so I really CAN just toss it on the floor to "recharge" and become cold again. I don't have to freeze or refridgerate it to make it cold. I'm going to take it to the beach with me next week and see how it does there! I haven't been able to sit in the sun for a couple of years because I overheat so easily. I'm really looking forward to this trip!
