I would say yes. I wear them for hunting (sitting motionless for 3-4 hours at 10-25°F). Wearing these with one good pair of wool socks, is more effective than two pairs of wool socks and a set of toe warmer pouches.

The Hot Sockee can be worn either way, however the original intent was and still is to wear over your socks in shoes, boots and slippers. We feel this is best is cold temps and when exerting.
