So here I am, staring at this one-foot braided cord, and I'm thinking: "We invented USB-C to unify everything, to END the madness of seventeen different cables for seventeen different devices. But no - NO - some genius had to build a bridge back to the old country." It's like building a Tesla with a tape deck. The cable works. Let me be clear - it WORKS. Sixteen watts of charging power, 480 megabits per second of data transfer. You know what that means? Neither do I. But apparently it's enough to keep your ancient Kindle alive while your fancy new laptop sits there with its smug USB-C port judging your life choices. Does it hurt my brain? Yeah. But so does traffic, television, and the fact that we still measure things in feet and inches. At least this cable does its job without complaining.
