Something Borrowed [DVD]

Reasonably decent movie with some good laughs although it was quite predictable.

Love it

I love this film. It is about real life and the best thing is, it's a rom-com where we actually don't know what will happen in the end. It is frankly astonishing that this subject has rarely been explored - and kudos to Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson in making such flawed characters relatable. Moral compass aside - it's an interesting situation - and while we may say today how we hope we would react under the same circumstances... can we ever REALLY know? I have now seen it for the fourth time. Even the most frustrating moment - I had to later admit to myself was probably how things would turn out in real life. Amazing soundtrack too - Natasha Bedingfield, The Civil Wars, Salt n Pepa, Paulo Nutini - watch this film but please leave judgment at the door. It's well acted and probably closer to real life and 90% of the cookie-cutter, fairytale movies out there.

I bought this film because I found out that John Krasinski was in it. So, was it worth it? Kinda. Sorta. It's just another rom com but I like rom coms. And I always enjoy Kate Hudson, who is becoming more and more like her mom with every film she makes. Aldo good here is Ginnifer Goodwin an actress I'm less familiar with but she is just as good as Kate. Filling out the lead foursome we have an actor that I have never heard of before. Colin Egglesfield is extremely handsome and a more than capable actor. I was also pleased to see Ashley Williams from HIMYM and here she does some nice work. Finally as Marcus we have an actor by the name of Steve Howey who I've also never heard of before. He is a funny guy and not bad an actor too. There's an extremely brief screen shot of Wild Things, where Matt, Neve and Denise are getting together and there's also THAT scene from Fatal Attraction. HOH/SDH subtitles supplied.

I was really looking forward to seeing this but what could have been a interesting, funny story was let down by tired old jokes about lets get drunk and act really horrible to each other. I love Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon a Time and in this film she is absolutely great and almost saves the film. Unfortunately the film focus a little too much on Kate Hudson who is an absolute nightmare. I am glad she is not my friend. I don't know why Rachael continues to want to please her. The male lead Colin Egglesfield is irritating and really needs to grow a backbone, he also looks too much like Tom Cruise for my liking. I loved Rachael and Ethan way more than the other two and found their scenes and story way more interesting than anything else in the film.

wanted to see this film when it was first shown but never got the chance. i took a chance and bought it knowing the chances were id like it and i can honestly say it was worth it. enjoyed it from start to finish and it's a film i know i will watch again am now going to read the books! i know some people will have different opinions about the affair element but it isnt done in a way that makes you think its malicious or that they are enjoying the fact that its going to hurt people. ITS COMPLICATED also got mixed reviews about that aspect but i think that was also a good film. i would recommend this film to a friend i think its worth seeing plus colin egglesfield i really fit just an added bonus! hope they make the sequel

I loved this book when I read it a few years ago (and the follow up Something Blue!). I went to the cinema to see the film and didnt actually realise until half way through the film, that it was based on the novel.I loved the film! I think the casting is perfect with the gorgeous Dex torn between two women, the sweet Rachel (Goodwin) and selfish but charming Darcy (Hudson). Its not about a sordid affair, but a love story between two people who have never admitted their feelings until it was too late.Went to see the film a second time at the cinema and just bought the DVD to watch with my sister on a girly night in! Perfect Chick Flix!

Good working condition and low price for secdon hand, but arrived dirty! Hence 4 instead of 5 stars
