Dustopper PRO Dust Collector - 99.9% Efficiency Cyclone Dust Separator

I use a $6 thicker bucket with a more comfortable handle from Lowe's. It works great! I use pelleted litter that crumbles into saw dust when wet, for both my dogs (in a large kennel tray covered with plastic half inch by half inch hardware cloth) and my cats (normal litter boxes!). Instead of having to dump them into bags or carry them outside to the trash, I just vacuum it all up! It works on cat poop as well, not getting stuck, though I only use it on the saw dust where my dogs pee. Saves me money on pee pads for the dogs to use the pellets! I use three buckets: litter boxes in one, and one bucket for each kennel tray. Super simple to clean up after everyone, and cheaper than regular kitty litter or pads. So worth it to get this dust separator and be able to easily empty the mess, without worrying about the vacuum filter or yuckies inside my vacuum. I even tested it and sucked up way more than I should have (both kennel trays of saw dust) and the bucket was very full but with very little saw dust going into the actual vacuum! When the bucket was less full, like maybe three quarters, there was not a speck in the vacuum at all

Works exactly the way it says it does. I have used it for both wet and dry cleanup. It’s great to hook it up to the shop back and I don’t have to change any filters or do anything if I wanna go from dry to wet or wet to dry because I can easily hose out a 5 gallon bucket. I used it in a dirt bed to remove seeds and excess dirt. Then I dumped it out and removed a condensate clog. After that I used it to remove cleaning chemicals from the condensate line. Everything worked flawlessly. There’s a gasket on the top that allows it to seal really easily to a 5 gallon bucket. It good enough that when I put to much into the hose the vac collapsed the bucket. Its thick plastic and very durable. Unless you make a carry station or add some wheels, you do lose a little bit of maneuverability, but it’s totally worth it. I love the orange bottom and clear top because you can see what’s going into the bucket. For the price I wish it came with a bucker cradle with wheels so you could easily just wheel everything around. Mine came with an intermittent hose. I’m not sure if the others usually do, but all I had to do was pull everything out of the packaging put it together and go. There’s a small hole I had to drill and it even tells you what size drill bit and there’s a little dimple where to drill it.

I was concerned that this recommends a 5HP shop vac. Mine is an old shop vac with only 2.5 HP. Decided to give it a try anyway. I do have a 2.5 inch hose running from the sawdust collection port on my table saw to the Dustopper input. I don't know what optimal function would look like, but this does a great job catching the sawdust from my saw even with the lower power vac. I also had an old 90 mil bucket handy, and have zero problems with bucket collapse. I did add a second switch to my table saw so I can turn on the vacuum and then table saw for convenience. I will say that it generates a lot of static, so I added a grounding wire, but that was easy to do. Having the saw fill a bucket rather than leave a mess on the floor - and keeping a lot of sawdust out of the air is worth it.

Works great with my setup. I also bought an attachment hose with accessories for tools. The issues I have are the gasket falls out when detached from bucket. Doesn’t perfectly fit the bucket I’m using. One side won’t stay latched. This doesn’t matter once the shop vac is turned on. I’ve been sanding cabinets in the house. 98% of the dust seems to be going in the bucket. Not seeing a whole lot on my shop vac filter.

Shop Vac Savior - this thing works so well it's crazy how many filters this would have saved. Does need a heavy-duty bucket, I've been using an old oil bucket I had sitting around. Fits any standard five-gallon bucket but Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor Freight buckets just are not sturdy enough (I have not tried the doubling up of buckets method yet though). Great investment for your shop! Currently mine is attached to my CNC machine but easily moved around and used for all my tools. Comes with everything needed to connect to a 2inch shop vac, purchased an adaptor kit for my smaller vacs and I was dust free in minutes, again, while saving my filters! When you empty the bucket, a little blast of air and it is clean again ready for use.

This dust collector is the best deal out there for a shop vac. No dust gets through!! The Ryobi shop vac has no dust but the 5 gallon dust collector bucket has it all. 100% works as advertised!!

Pleasantly surprised with how well this bucket-top debris separator works. I've had the cone shaped cyclone separator and a home-made variant over the years. Both worked but eventually found their way to the trashcan. Just purchased the Dustopper, hooked it up to a 6" jointer, and it grabbed 99.9% of the chips and most, if not all, of the dust generated during the day. Next it was connected to a bandsaw, and most of the dust went in the bucket, not the shop vac canister. A really good test, and I'm pleased not having to sweep and vac up a bunch of sawdust and wood chips. I'm happy with the purchase.

This separator does an impressive job catching heavier bits of sawdust before going into the vacuum bag. Easy to use, too. Recommend for anyone who wants to buy vacuum bags less often!

Excellent performance but you do need a 5 gallon bucket. I got one from Halfords with no problem. It is made of fairly thick plastic which I think will be robust enough but I have not had it long enough to be sure. The instructions say the connections are 2.5inch but the inside diameter is a little smaller (more like 2.25"). I found it a little difficult to find adapters to connect it to a standard vacuum cleaner in the UK. This is why I have given it 4 stars rather than 5. It connected to my shop vacuum with no problem. Once the connections are sorted out it works very well. The main reason I purchased it is because it is made of plastic and is light and compact enough to easily transport in my car. I put the connectors and tubing inside it whilst transporting it..

I didn't know what I needed but the internet told me to get some kind of a dust collector to save the shop vacuum filter from clogging up. I used this along with a 5hp vacuum most of the weekend and I was very happy with the results. The bucket was FULL of saw dust and the vacuum itself was practically empty. This did an amazing job separating the sawdust. Very happy with my purchase.

Recived in 12 hours but it was a used item. Open box and potentially missing parts. I'm unhappy. This isn't a cheap knock off, I bought it because I expected a high quality product. Getting a used product for a full price is unfair.
