Bizzy One Bulb Duster - 8oz/Diatomaceous Earth Applicator/Garden Puffer Duster/Powder Duster - 2 Wands for Multi Purpose Indoor and Outdoor Uses

As a former Terminix employee, I find it hard to pay someone to come treat my own home for me when I still have a pretty good working knowledge of how things are done. It's just a matter of finding the right "tools". Here is one of those right tools. We have been treating the foundation and spot treating the inside (inside as needed) to our home for years, but this year the ants overtook us so I needed to step it up. This duster, with the appropriate pesticide powder, worked great in knocking out both the standard black ants as well as the little sugar fellas creeping in around the kitchen sink. The bulb is just the right size for a standard homeowner to load up and take care of the common travel spots (plumbing pipes, cracks, crevices, etc) and the applicator wand is a pretty good/comfortable size to still get up and dust around the "trouble" sill areas in the basement without the need to drag a ladder around. All in all - a great buy.

I had a bad silverfish infestation in an 1890 carriage house I was renting. Tried perimeter sprays, bait traps, Rosemary as a deterrent- nothing worked. Using this versatile duster, I was able to apply non-toxic diatomaceous earth along all exposed beam points, along basements, behind switch plates, outlets and into the pipe openings. This duster reaches everywhere and if you can get a fine straight line by squeezing the bulb with an even pressure and moving along the wall. The earth powder worked GREAT! Wear a mask when you apply as there is some billowing dust but once down doesn’t move. Over the next 2 mos I only found dead or dying silverfish (dozens! I can’t imagine how many were still in the walls!) As a note- I only lasted 7 mos in that place- though the silverfish were finally under control, I was too grossed out by then. If you read about silverfish- you’ll see why. Ironically, the other insect I used to hate (but not as much now) was the centipede who I discovered is a natural predator of silverfish. The diatomaceous earth kills them and other insects. Try it! And don’t waste money getting a different duster- this one is worth the money even if filling it is a pain!

I like that this Diatomaceous Earth Sprayer has a longer lance than what I have used in the past. The bulb felt nice in my hand and was easy to use. The collapsible funnel is great! No more mess trying to fill up the containers/bulb! I had to, unfortunately, take out a nest of carpenter bees that were living in my deck railing for years, according to my neighbor. We acquired the house last February and only discovered them this Spring. Last Spring/Summer we were busy with the rest of the house on the inside! This year was yard work and maintenance. I wish I did not have to take them out with Diatomaceous Earth, but they were incredibly persistent with hovering around the living/sitting area of the deck. I know they are not aggressive, but it made it unpleasant to have company over and our 14-month-old lab was being pestered. I puffed/sprayed they nest hole (the tip fit nicely) with a couple of powerfully directed puffs of Diatomaceous Earth which was all contained in the nest due to the tip fitting and sealing the opening tightly. I like how long the lances are and having the little 45-degree bend allowed me to access the carpenter bee nest opening at a safe distance. It has been about 4 weeks since the spraying and the bees are all gone. Due to the way bees develop another "batch" of bees started to emerge but were quickly dispatched because I was able to really get the Diatomaceous Earth up into the nest chambers. I would recommend this for use with Diatomaceous Earth or other powders. I only use Diatomaceous Earth since it is safe for everything other than hard-shelled insects. It looks like the bulb and lances will last a long time. My first sprayer was dried out and failed due to the Diatomaceous Earth drying of the membrane. This coming weekend I will be using this sprayer to dust my external house foundation with Diatomaceous Earth to help keep the ants, spiders and other insects from entering our home.

We have been having a bad time with crazy ants in south Texas. I tried many so called ant killers & wasted my time & money. I tried Hi-Yield powder & it really does works but I needed a good way to get it around my landscape rocks & around plants . . THIS BIZZY ONE BULB SOLVED THAT PROBLEM. This sure makes the spreading of Diatomaceous easy, efficient , and affective. Instead of trying to throw the stuff around and expecting it to go where you want it to go the sprayer gives you excellent control over your job. We were terrorized with two separate swarms of yellow jackets and the sprayer was a life saver. We were able to efficiently spray the powder heavy enough at night to cover all entrances and exits to the underground hives and actually spray it into the hive itself. The yellow jackets tunneled through the powder but in doing so covered themselves when leaving and helped spread it inside the hive when re-entering. This thing works great and for the price you can’t go wrong. The sprayer is very well constructed and I know will last a long time.

The dust bulb was well made, easy to assemble. Adding the dusting powder was also easy. Able to get into the smallest of crevices with the long, narrow stem and good distribution of powder with each squeeze of the bulb.

I really like this company. Their product, logo, instructions, etc. are all very friendly.. even HAPPY... which seems odd for a review, but it's true! They have a great vibe. The device is REALLY well made. I don't know if it's made in America, but it seems like the old-school manufacturing we were so used to. It's great, as in GREAT! The collapsible funnel they include is super handy. (Wish I had figured out what it was at the beginning because it's WAY better than the kitchen funnel I used until I actually looked at everything in the box... DUH, but I was deep into ant battle so I was in a hurry, okay! ;) Receiving two nozzles is also handy (mandatory) as the D-earth dust is so fine it's easy to clog (not the device's fault), so you just switch to the other. Application of the D-earth is always going to be tricky because you're literally forcing fine dust through a narrow tube, but this applicator si about as good as it's going to get and you receive some HAPPY with it, no charge!

I have been using similar products to control the powder for years but this is the best by far. It is easy to control the amount of powder (just don't squeeze too hard) in the right place. When using my other products, I always had a tough time if I had to turn them upside down to spray, not with this. It works great no matter the angle. It cost a a bit more then some, but is well built, easy to use and who wants to clean up insecticide powder from your clothes. Plus with the cap, no leaking powder when storing. Wish I would have found this years ago.
