Mary Shelley's 1831 revision includes her introduction to the origin and philosophy of her creation. 220 pages. English novelist Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (1797-1851) wrote Frankenstein during a summer spent near Lake Geneva, Switzerland, with her betrothed, Percy Bysshe Shelley, her stepsister Claire Clairmont, poet George Gordon Byron, and Lord Byron's physician, John William Polidari. Inclement weather kept the group indoors and they challenged one another to create fantastic tales. Shelley's was the result of a haunting vision: ''I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together.'' Review: Great book! - Such a good book! Frankenstein: Still Creepy, Still Awesome
Frankenstein is a classic for a reason. This edition is GORGEOUS, and the story still gives chills—plus, it’s a reminder that building your own monster probably isn’t the best DIY project. Perfect for your collection… or just to feel better about your own questionable life choices.

Halbleinen, Goldprägung, Goldschnitt an allen drei Seiten.

Beautiful
The book is bound beautifully with larger than expected pages. Obviously the story itself is great and it is the 1831 version. The book has been read through a couple times and no issues with the binding or pages themselves!
