You need this your maximizing your yields
This stuff does wonders for your plants. I'm sure you could go a whole grow cycle without it however it makes such a big difference in the overall strength in the stem since it helps produce this giant kuncles on the stem of the nodes. I'm not done with my grow yet but I have no doubt that the plant will be able to support all of its flowers. Furthermore, you can use this stuff pretty sparingly so it's gonna last you FOREVER. Overall, I think it's worth the investment.

My Favorite Silica
A lot of silica additives are the same as their purpose is to help increase the strength of the stalk’s cell walls. I’ve tried several brands and keep going back to this one. Something tells me it just blends with my recipe better than many other brands, possibly the additional potassium but it seems to be more compatible than Advanced Nutrients Rhino Skin (which I really, really like and still use when I can’t get this) and Botanicare Silica Blast (just below Rhino Skin imo and is my third string silica). After many runs of each brand and a couple not named, I’ve pretty much settled on Armor Si.

This stuff is really good!
I’ve been using the General Hydroponics Armor Si for a few weeks now, and I am genuinely impressed with the results! This water-based nutrient solution is easy to mix and apply, and I’ve already noticed a noticeable improvement in my plants' health and growth.

Strong stems and sun protection
I have been using this since 2018 and have tried other silica products but prefer this one due to its slightly higher alkalinity. I use it for fruit/vegetables/houseplants in soil, leca, kratky, and DWC methods I have noticed that my monsteras, spider and Pothos plants love this stuff, but my Ficus Elastica especially has been growing off the charts since I added this. My main fertilizer is Foliage Pro, but when I add the required 5 ml of fertilizer to a gallon of reverse osmosis water it drops the ph to somewhere between 4 - 4.5 and I have to use quite a bit of PH Up to adjust it into the correct range. Through a bit of testing I have found that adding just 2ml of armor si before the fertilizer there is no need for any further ph adjustment. If you find yourself already using PH up as your main adjustment method, use this instead, plus you get the benefits of the silica. At the rate I am using it (2ml/gal) this bottle can make roughly 470 gallons so it lasts a while. One huge benefit I have noticed is sun protection. I can take a plant that has been growing indoors and stick it outside in full sun without any burning of the leaves. My peppers and tomatoes go right outside without going through the hardening off process.
