Bought these for more aesthetic storage of pet food in our laundry room. The large one holds a 33 lb bag of dry dog kibble with room to spare. I am pretty sure this would easily hold 40+ lbs of kibble. The smaller one is filled a little over halfway with a 16 lb bag of kitty kibble. The lids simply lift off and there is no rubber ring for a tight seal so determined pets might be able to knock the lids off and help themselves. Ours is stored under a utility sink which solves this issue for us. Slides easily on the floor to remove the lid for feeding time. Couple of other notes: The white cans have a royal blue stripe of paint on the top and bottom. I thought from photos online these lines were black. Blue doesn’t really match my room but it doesn’t bother me either. I suppose if you want to, a small bottle of enamel paint could fix this for someone, so don’t let the blue deter you. The lids for the white cans are not sealed/finished. Maybe a thin coat of whitewash is on there? We plan to polyurethane them soon to give them a nicer finished look and to protect the covers. I love these containers but thought they were expensive for what they are. Vinyl Decals in photo: I bought the vinyl dog food and cat food decals from FairyDustDecals on Etsy. Bought the 6” size for the large container and 5” size for the smaller one. Just mentioning that in case anyone wanted to know. Overall these containers are great and recommended.

These are perfect, size is great! I use them to store dry food! Dog food flour etc! You can sit on them ,use them for a side table ! Mine are hunter green! I also bought the silver in the past! I love them ,they add to my decor as well!

Nice, but light weight. Fall over easily when used as cocktail tables.

I have a tiny apartment without much space for storage. These have a good capacity and double as end tables. I got the yellow, which adds a nice pop of color to the room, as well. They're quite sturdy, so would go with me to my next abode...

Pricey for a dumb little galvanized trash can with a cheap would lid. But I bought them specifically for that rough look to use them as end tables. They are awesome. No coasters allowed. I want the stains. :-)

I was looking for farmyard rustic end tables that I could store bed linens in for my guest room. After checking other online sources i saw these. Pros: the items arrived, well, packed and protected. The metal barrels themselves seem to be well constructed. The paint on them is smooth and without blemish. I am, with some creative folding. able to fit one pillow, woven blanket, and remaining bed linens in the space these provide. Cons: the lids are as inexpensively made as possible. In fact, the wood is rather porous, and therefore anything spilled on It will remain there for a lifetime. It is for this reason. I chose to pour a two-part epoxy resin over them to protect them. (see before and after photos.). Because I had to modify them in order for them to function without potential damage I gave it three stars. Another reason for the 3stars is the blotchy / haphazard application of white paint while trying to distress the lid. If you look in the photo where I applied the Epoxy, you’ll see on the larger lid there is a white blotch in the middle. To be fair it is the Epoxy that exacerbated this blemish however, without putting something on it to protect it, it is likely to become damaged. Now if these items were priced less I would be giving these five stars. But because the manufacturing of the lids was so poor and not well thought out and for the price point it gets three stars. In summary, these barrels will work well for my needs, and after modifying the lids, I would give them five stars. But because I had to put extra money into these, I have to wonder if I might not have been more happy buying a more expensive product.
