Essential Safety Item
Many years ago I was on a ship - the MV Eva, a really rough Shell Tanker - and we had a problem in the heat exchanger in the exhaust flue. So, when in port - I think it was Portland, Maine - myself and the Second Engineer climbed inside and had a look but, unfortunately the 2E forgot that his shifter was in his back pocket and out it fell all the way down to the turbo. That meant that I, as a 5E had to literally abseil down the flue to get inside the turbo and retrieve the lost shifter before we could sail. It was a lesson I never forgot. Make sure your tools if used at height cannot fall. Not only is it dangerous, it's a royal pain in the butt if you have to go and retrieve something dropped. Also digging an 8" shifter out of someone's head is messy and it will need washing off before you can use it again. So, I've always made sure I couldn't drop things either at work or at home renovating houses. And these straps work a treat. Easy to fit and remove they make life a lot less dangerous for anyone below you for sure. They also can save you money. That expensive framing nailer dropped from the second floor scaffolding wipes out any profit for the day for sure. These are well made and thanks to the carabiner style clips easy to use. Bottom line is that there's no reason not to use something like this when working aloft when they are cheap, well made and easy to use.

Great value for an invaluable safety device
Great pack of 3 really high quality RATED tool tethers. There are a lot of similar products flying around but they are usually unrated which means from a HSE point of view they may as well not exist! These 3 tethers are rated at 9kg which should be sufficient for most small tools. They do feel like they are high quality as well with positive response from the karabiner gate and quality material used in the tether. Note that any tether should always be inspected for damage before each use. These are designed to prevent falls of tools injuring those below, they're not really designed to purposely leave tools hanging from. They 'tool' end has a loop which is large enough to fit over most handles, there is then a cinch that slides up to secure. The other method if it is an enclosed handle is to feed it through and then feed the tether through itself to secure. The other end is then a karabiner to clip onto SOMETHING SOLID (again something solid such as an access platform or purpose designed toolbelt NOT belt loops on trousers!). I tested by dropping my SDS drill which is 6Kg and the tether successfully stopped its fall with the elastic section reducing the impact of the sudden stop. Definitely highly recommended and a bargain for a RATED tether at £6 each.

Well implimented solution.
I do a lot of work on narrow "balconies" that are often merely railings on double doors on second floor flats. So nowhere to put anything down and reliant on tool belts and such. How to secure a tool from falling is always an concern/issue and here is one possible solution, it certainly is for me. But that isnt it's only possible use I'm sure. The item is supplied in simple plastic bags. The non-stretched length is approx 90cm at full stretch its close to 150cm, one end is an adjustable cord that can be worn around the wrist etc. and tightened using a squeeze lock toggle, easy to move when you want and locks well when released. The majority of the length is cloth sheathed bungee, good tension. The end is a forged aluminium carabiner with an appropriate strength spring. both ends are secured with some beefy synthetic thread double stitching. Stated load capacity 9kg was tested and met. Item labelling is an important reminder about the safe use of the product along with a separate manufacturers label. This is a proper working solution to something I have previously "fixed" using "at hand" methods, none of which have been entirely satisfactory. It's a well thought out product and the manufacturing certainly appears to be of a high standard, happy to have reviewed this useful item.

Excellent for tool safety!
I ordered this set of 3 tool tethers for my partner as they’re ideal for using when doing their work as they work high up normally around the roof line of homes. They prevent them from dropping the tool but if I did it wouldn’t fall to the floor causing possible damage to objects or people. With 3 in the set it means there is enough for two or three of them to wear whilst using their drills and other electric heavy equipment. With each tether taking a weight of up to 9kg that’s plenty for the tools they use daily and they’re over the moon with them. At the time of ordering the set of 3 cost £18.00 which is excellent value for money in my opinion as they work out at only £6.00 each. The safety they give and how well they work after each one was tested out my partner said he’d be happy at twice the price for the quality, safety and strength of each tether.

Stay safe and organized with these reliable tool safety solutions.
I recently purchased the Tool Tether - Tool Lanyard with Spring Locking Aluminum Carabiner & Adjustable Loop End in a 3-pack, and I have been extremely impressed with the quality and functionality of these tool tethers. They have quickly become an essential part of my toolkit for working at heights and on scaffolding. One of the standout features of these tool tethers is the spring locking aluminum carabiner. The carabiner is sturdy and reliable, ensuring that my tools are securely attached to the lanyard. The spring locking mechanism provides an extra layer of safety, preventing accidental detachment and ensuring that my tools stay with me at all times. The adjustable loop end of the tool tether is another great feature. It allows me to easily and securely attach my tools of various sizes and shapes. The loop end can be adjusted to accommodate different tool handles, providing a versatile solution for tool safety. The 153 cm working length of these tethers is perfect for my needs. It provides enough length to comfortably work with my tools while still keeping them within reach. The length is also adjustable, allowing me to customize it to the specific task or working environment. I really appreciate the maximum load capacity of 9KG. This ensures that I can confidently attach my tools without worrying about them becoming too heavy for the tether. The strong and durable construction of the tether gives me peace of mind knowing that my tools are secure and won't pose a safety risk. The 3-pack option is a great value for money. Having multiple tethers allows me to attach multiple tools simultaneously, making my work more efficient and organized. It's also convenient to have extras in case one gets damaged or lost. These tool tethers have significantly improved my safety and peace of mind when working at heights or on scaffolding. They provide a reliable and secure way to keep my tools within reach and prevent them from falling or causing accidents. The quality construction, adjustable features, and maximum load capacity make them a must-have tool safety solution. In conclusion, the Tool Tether - Tool Lanyard with Spring Locking Aluminum Carabiner & Adjustable Loop End in a 3-pack is an excellent investment for anyone working at heights or on scaffolding. The combination of a sturdy carabiner, adjustable loop end, ample working length, and high load capacity ensures that your tools are securely tethered and always within reach. I highly recommend these tool tethers for their quality, functionality, and value for money. Stay safe and organized with these reliable tool safety solutions.

3 Pack of tool tethers
These really are an ingenious idea for tool working safety. The materials used are of nice quality and ought to withstand more than the rated load capacity of 9 kg. The only thing a bit disappointing right off the bat is that the carabiners do not “lock” but, do spring to the closed position. The carabiners are large enough, however, to engage onto most things that you would expect them to. The inside diameter is over 1 inch that tapers down into the loop of over 2 inches of inside diameter length….perfect for belt loops or work belts. I would expect the tethers to outlast the carabiners and the good thing there is that they easily slip off and can be replaced with true locking ones at any time. Deduction of one star for the carabiner situation as I was expecting locking ones as advertised. Now, the other end has a slip loop design used to wrap around your tool that you need tethered. It has the plastic spring loaded slip cinch that works flawlessly at release and at stopping when cinch tightening is complete. The bungee material sewn into the tether is overlaid with top quality fabric as one would expect. Really nice, easy and quick to work with.

Well made
Although I have yet to drop a tool while on a ladder (okay--a hammer that one time), I have a couple upcoming projects that will see me on a ladder with some power tools and a nail gun, and these are great for keeping from dropping your tools to the ground as well as just freeing up your hands while on top of a ladder with a bunch of tools. You can either loop the tool end around your tool before attaching it to your belt (I did this around the handle of my nail gun), or you can put the tool through the looped end and then slide the spring-lock into place to hold the tool in place (I did this with the drill), and then clip the carabiner to your tool belt. It has a pretty elastic bungee cord that easily goes from about 26 inches out to about 46 inches, so you're able to reach your work, but not have to deal with a bunch of non-bungeed cords hanging down around your feet with normal rope. The cover over the bungee cord says it'll hold 19.8 pounds, and it seems hardy enough to take the shock in case you did drop one of your tools. I'm very happy with this product.
