Very yummy. Definitely soak them in water for 15-30 minutes before you do anything. They don't have much taste, but add good texture and plant collagen. The texture is reminiscent of seaweed. I put mine in some hot & sour soup. It turned out lovely, soup was gone the next night

I bought these to use as ramen toppings and they worked perfectly. Soak in warm water and they’re ready to go. Made tonkotsu ramen in the instapot and it came out delicious. I also bought these porcini mushrooms for my ramen tare and they were great too. I had issues finding the correct mushroom at the Asian market since I cant read the labels so I was happy to find these plus I prefer this container for storage.

So I finally used this product and boy was I disappointed. First of all, the texture should have a little crunch to it. Not soft and mushy like mine came out. I've cooked with this type of fungus before and there was always a crunch to it. That's really what texture this is supposed to provide since it has no taste. It actually grows where I live (Hawaii), but conditions have to be right (rainy weather for a couple weeks) and it grows in the forests and I'm a senior so I figured buying it was much easier than going out and picking it. Oh well, I just threw the rest in the trash where it belongs.

The product arrived as detailed in the ad. After soaking the mushrooms in warm water for a period of time, I was surprised at how well the mushrooms expanded. Two things: It took well over 30 minutes for the mushrooms to rehydrate; secondly I was very impressed with the taste of the mushrooms when used in cooking. Note: be careful not to underestimate the final volume of each of these mushrooms. Try a few less when you first start. Our first try we ended up with twice the hydrated volume that we needed.

I wanted to like these dried woodear mushrooms, but unfortunately they didn’t work well for my needs. After soaking, the texture became very soft and almost jelly-like instead of staying pleasantly chewy. Because of that, they were not suitable for salads at all — they completely lost the firm bite I was expecting. They might work better in soups where the softer texture isn’t an issue, but for stir-fries or salads they were disappointing. Overall, just average quality in my experience.
