Would it be safe for use around house plants?

NO!!Do not use around house plants or a bouquet with fragrance...fragrance will disappear as will the pine smell of fresh cut christmas tree.

Does this have a ul, intertek, or other third party approval certification for use in the usa?

They only have a CE mark. They are well constructed. I first used one to eliminate a foul odor from a bank repossessed house. Took multiple cycles but it worked well.

What prevents this device being considered a radiological device?

Hi Ben! Ozone Generators are not considered as a radiological device because it does not produce ionizing radiation, including, certain sealed radioactive sources. Ozone is generated by Corona Discharge (most common type) or Ultraviolet Light. Ozone generators deodorize, disinfect, kill or remove dangerous or irritating airborne particles in indoor environments. However, ozone is a toxic gas with very different properties to oxygen. Whether it is a pure form or mixed with other chemicals, ozone can be harmful to health. That's why we strongly recommend the use of ozone generators in unoccupied space with the right ozone output and time duration depending on the size of an area. I hope this information helps!
