I'm a Texas biology teacher who has students study the differences between soils collected from across our state. I've tried incorporating chemical analysis in years past, but the test kits (capsules) have been nothing but a flop with students. This kit is simple and seemingly accurate for our local soil test. I'm looking forward to having students do this kit on about a dozen different soil types this fall. Kids will love the colorful results!

pH test is ok, but I think better accuracy for the aqueous solution is obtained from the API aquarium testing solutions. Nitrogen is disappointing - again, aquarium tests divide this into 3 categories rather. I'm gonna stick with API master freshwater test kit here... Doubt the other two work.

The instrction chart does not have any information about the npk requirement. Means after soil test user is not able to find what to do after matching the soil test color to the chart for partcular npk. Information needs to be added in the chart so that user could k ow what to do , was the npk high or low od optimal. Furthermore the clarity of soil testing solution is crucial, if not clear that would lead false results ,instruction should be added to filter the solution. The soil test kit looks fancy and would only work when extra precaution taken. The recived kit had leakage, contacted seller, not responded.
