POWERFUL VALUE!!
Works great with Verizon. Great for those who are on the road a lot and can’t quite rely on hotel internet. Speeds are entirely dependent on the area. I bought this and used it first in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre PA area, and was seeing speeds from anywhere from 20-60 mbps. When I used it in the Benton harbor MI area, I was seeing a bit more (both had full bars of signal). Ping on this during games is SIGNIFICANTLY better than on hotel WiFi. You can also use this unit as a repeater. Gl.iNet sells a dedicated pocket router that acts as a repeater and WAN, that isn’t all that much cheaper than just getting this, so the value for money on this is pretty great. I use a generic network switch to get more ports and it works great. BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN THE IMEI OF THE ROUTER BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT IN CASE YOU NEED IT AGAIN. The “app” that this uses is very powerful, but could be confusing to those that are new to networking terms and protocols. WOULDN’T recommend to beginners, or those who can’t follow a guide. There’s a huge community on these, but they all speak assuming you already know the basics.

Great alternative to adding a mobile internet only line.
Very nice and reliable. Just popped in my phone sim with data and it worked right away. Must charge every night when I get home. Speeds capped at 150MBps. Enough for road trips and kids are connected to streaming HD videos

A fully featured travel router - great!!
I got this to have wifi over cell service in foreign countries but have not yet tested that out. I have used it here in USA to make sure it works and keep the firmware updated. The unit is very slow to initialize but once running seems speedy enough (for 4G). The inbuilt battery makes this a little heavy (approx 2 lbs) but the battery can be used to boost other devices in addition to powering the router. Run time on battery will vary, I don't have a number for that but have tested it for nearly an hour without trouble. It can be charged while in use. If your hotel room has a network jack you can use this unit to route through it. All routing can be done as a firewalling router - a feature I demand - and thus presents only a single device to your hosts network. Firmware updates occur frequently and I believe are based on DD-WRT code base, I see new patches every month. A nice feature is that it can link onto the host network utilizing a VPN tunnel so your traffic is not visible on the host network, and multiple devices can use the VPN transparently. It's a well thought out unit and seems well supported. I heartily recommend it if you have a need for a flexible travel router.

Superb
An excellent router and modem. My SIM card didn’t work at first, but I read the instructions and entered the correct APN and voila, it works like a charm. I love the WireGuard vpn feature.

Good but runs hot.
Pro: works, and wide band coverage. Very customizable. Great for hobbies. Con: runs warmer than other hotspots, even though it’s only 4G. Very heavy relative to other 4G hotspots. And for all that weight from battery, the battery life isn’t that much longer. I ended up returning it.

Verizon, T-Mobile, Visible, Mint all working great! Major CDMA/GSM networks have no problem.
Absolutely awesome for the price offered. So far has done everything it claims to be able to do. Few things different than other GLinet options as far as luci advanced menu - wish it had similar luci options to the Opal model but each model has its own quirks and modifications specifically for the model/software/hardware functionality. All in all it seems good 4.5 star. It is slower to connect to cellular and bootup is also a little slow, after boot from Off it has a standby mode that allows battery to be saved when not in use without the boot up wait again.

Not for digital nomad
I bought this to embark my digital nomad expedition. Unfortunately, after a year of using this around the world, I find the Mudi V2 heavily bottlenecked by its outdated SoC chip which really tank its internet performance. It does everything so poorly especially in the area it is designed for. The unit is also pretty large and with relatively poor battery life. A hotspot off your cheap used android and maybe tether to your Slate for VPN access is far easier to setup and offer way more reliable connection. You can also get a used Pixel 5G for less than the price of Mudi with battery last twice as long. GL-inet has a lot of good offerings, sadly this one isn't it.

Versatile package with a lot of promise but poor wireless and wired performance
I wanted to like this router. The fact that it runs OpenWRT and provide a lot of options were huge bonuses for me. It made it easy to, say, spoof an IMEI so I could get free cellular hotspot from my free cell line. The ability to mutl-WAN via wifi, ethernet, and cellular were also huge. The built-in VPN and Adguard support were a nice bonus. The big problem was that this modem only supports LTE. 5G support would have been nice. GL.iNet makes 5G routers but only for RV. They recently refreshed The Mudi but only for eSIM support. Why not throw a 5G modem in? The wifi on this thing is also quite poor. I get better wireless speed from my LTE-only iPhone XS max over hotspot with the same SIM card. Strangely, a lot of the times, the upload speed is higher than the download speed. This is true regardless of whether the Mudi is using cellular or even ethernet. The ethernet is another issue. I have gigabit internet. I don't expect Mudi to be pulling gigabit speed but like it's like 20mbps down at best over wifi. I get 200+ mbps with my old Airport Extreme on wireless AC. I have also found the wireless connection to be somewhat unstable from time to time too. Connecting to the Mudi via the app or even the browser can be hit or miss, sometime it just doesn't load. Overall, this could be a compelling package if GL.iNet improves on the WiFi performance and puts a better 5G-compatible chip (with mmWave support, please). Please also integrate an ethernet port into the router instead of having me to attach a dongle and please make it at least gigabit, 100mbps in this day and age is way outdated.

Excellent Quality
Excellent travel hotspot! Easy to set up, strong LTE signal, and reliable Wi-Fi for multiple devices. The battery lasts a long time, and the VPN features are a huge bonus for secure internet access while traveling. Highly recommended for frequent travelers and remote workers.

Ottimo MA attenzione
Veramente ottimo, funziona perfettamente con TIM. Unico punto, devi sapere cosa stai facendo e cosa stai comprando, non è plug and play.
