Depeche Mode: Monument

I've been a fan of Depeche Mode for a very long time and bought media for about 30 years. This book is BIG and shows details and photos of almost every media release for the band along side stories and photos of press cuttings amongst others, It's a perfect visual time line story of one of the world's biggest and most influential bands for the last 30 years. The band have release a vast amount of media over 30 years and have always had very good artistic covers by some of the best graphic / photographers in the industry, you will see them all in this book. The book is written in German but if you can't read German it's not a problem because the amount of images makes up for it. If you can read German then lucky you. Worth every penny to me.

First of all i am not german, but this didnt put me off shelling out some hard earned cash for what must be the greatest DM book ever. The pages are packed with great photographs of all the record sleeves, memorabilia, posters, live shots and fan club stuff. It even has info on soothe my soul which isnt even out in this country as a single yet!!! As a DM obsessive this is one of the best things i own on the band.

For anyone who is into this band and their music, This IS A MUST HAVE!!! Could not put it down the moment I flipped the 1st few pages. Well illustrated by fantastic photos! I don't understand German, but the photos referencing over 30 years of music and paraphernalia by the band are more than enough reason for any fan to get a hold of this!! Can't wait for the English version, and have already put in a pre-order with Amazon UK!!!

I wanted a function as a data book, but it is a great book. I'm Japanese. CD and DVD of 101 were never reissued in Japan. Why ? There are no Japanese subtitles in EU edition 101 DVD. awful !

Essential book about DM. This one, the Steve Mallins one and Stripped from Jonathan Miller and you have the complete picture on DM.

This is an amazing book filled with all the DM ephemera and info you can imagine. Easily the best book for hardcore DM fans to date. I must admit I kinda stopped following them after Alan left and their sound shifted into that weird blues gospel hybrid. No thanks. But as a big fan of theirs throughout the 80’s and early 90’s this book doesn’t disappoint. Brought back a lot of memories from seeing them on the Black Celebration, MFTM and Violator tours. Highly Recommend. What’s disappointing is how Amazon chooses to package items, regardless of the cost. My $50 copy arrived loose in a box twice the size of the book with no protection. The book’s corners were dinged up and there were also scuff marks on the back from the box probably being tossed around in transit. Same thing happened with a $100 Herzog blu-ray set I bought a while back. No point in returning it either as the replacement arrives with the same careless packaging. Just something to be aware of. If you’re wanting a mint copy, Amazon probably isn’t the place due to their carelessness with packaging.

This book is the perfect gift for any Depeche Mode fan - it is big and heavy, full of gorgeous photos and a lot of information! It is worth every penny.
