No, you need DM1742 doors for the A42R fireplace. They are on the Supreme Fireplaces website, don't think they're here on Amazon.

Will this fit the A42C model?

No, these will not fit A42 models

Will this fit my 1998yr/"na42" heatilator? manufacturer says i need the dm1042 doors. i have the track already.

It should. The fireplace I installed the DM1042 was built in 2005, and had a Heatilator Fireplace with a sliding screen on a track and the door popped right into the track. We didn't have to do anything but remove the screen and replace it with the door. There are some videos on YouTube that show you how to install them that were quite helpful. You might check there. I think we just Googled "how to install a Heatilator DM1042 Fireplace Door." ... Hope that helps....Good luck!!
