Alpha Industries Men's M-65 Relaxed Fit Field Coat

Very odd fit. Too big in torso, but sleeves are too short. Seems like a bad design point.

Great quality materials. The jacket is boxier than initially expected but runs true to size. For instance, I’m a slim fit small in the m65 heritage but I’m an s here. Both of these jackets fits me mostly the same on those sizes. The cotton is super comfortable. This jacket does not include the hood and is a little bit less of a coat and more of a fashion piece. Also doesn’t have epaulettes, which is a good variant of style and doesn’t have the possibility of attaching a liner. Still an amazing jacket. Recommended.

This is my second m-65 from alpha industries. The first one I purchased was their heritage version and that one definitely runs bigger just like the original m-65 and thus I ended up getting a size small in that one and it fits perfectly with enough room to layer in. This mod 2 version however definitely runs true to size, I generally wear a large in almost all my clothing and the large was a good fit for me with room to layer as well. No concealed hoodie on the mod 2 but I’m not too bummed out about it. Color and feel of the cotton are top notch as well.

I’m 5’8 and the size M is a little roomy. Lovely soft cotton. If you don’t want epaulettes, this is a good option.

The quality is great, but it still has an odd fit similar to that of the non-modified version. Also, It's odd that they removed the hood and I can't find a liner for it.

Note: My purchase was from Alpha Industries directly, but their site doesn't appear to let you read all the reviews, so I'm posting here as well. Also, my jacket was just listed as the "Mod" vs Mod II, so take my review with a grain of salt. Before buying this jacket, I did a lot of research into Alpha Industries' sizing and fit. Most people online will recommend that you buy a size down, at least in the M-65 Heritage jacket. Had I done that, I don't think I could even wear the Mod jacket, so I'm glad I went with my typical size of a Large (based on the fact that the site's size chart puts me in a Large [44" chest] and the fact that the fit is listed as "Standard" vs Core.) However, I would say that the Mod jacket fits much closer to what most people would consider slim fit. The jacket "fits" me, and I can zip it, but the thickness of the material gives me a much closer fit. I would not be able to layer even a light hoodie under this, which is disappointing. The images on the site show the models wearing a sweater-type shirt, a button-up shirt, a liner and then the jacket, though I doubt even the model would be able to zip it up with all those layers - but that's marketing for you. The fit is more in line with a men's large shirt than a men's large jacket; I'm measuring roughly 22" pit to pit, so you may want to size up in the Mod if you're on the larger end of the chest measurements given on the site. I would return this if I could, but unfortunately it was final sale. It's a shame because the material feels high-quality, the black is a nice, deep black, and it just plain looks good.
