Good external SSD backup storage option with military-grade drop protection, one-touch backup, and it comes with USB 3.1/Type-C connectivity cables. Considering the price, it is very competitive choice. Like other popular brands, it is fast, pocket size, and support the latest USB-C with fast read/write speed. I tried it with Android and Windows devices. Both work as plug-n-play device without any manual driver update or format required.

This "Transcend TS4TESD380C 4TB USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 USB Type-C ESD380C" SSD drive is SO FAST I CAN BACK UP A TERABYTE AN HOUR. This is MORE THAN TEN TIMES FASTER than what I used to do with my old USB3.1 external hard drive. It WAS taking me twelve (12) hours to do an image backup so I would have to start the backup then come back the next day. Now I am done in the time it takes for my lunch break. This Four (4) Terabyte Solid-State Drive (SSD) has NO MOVING PARTS and is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and although it comes complete with a full set of USB cables, I opted to buy a 90-degree, six-inch, USB C Right Angle Cable, so the drive fits neatly on my desk. Manufacturer support is unbeatable with Transcend SSD utilities and documentation downloadable anytime from the Transcend website. The exclusive “Transcend SCOPE Utility”, which I downloaded and installed under Windows 11, lets me see drive health and available firmware updates when they are published. Storing my important files and making image backups is easy and no matter what happens; ransomware, stolen computer, the dog ate my homework, I am covered with a backup that is fast, convenient, and small enough to fit in a fire-safe. I have been using Transcend products since 2007 and I have never been disappointed by them.

Excellent drive, fast data transfer and solid performance so far. Very convenient size and the dual cables for USB transfer is quite helpful.

Great little SSD. Use it to back up my pictures while traveling. I have noticed that the price has almost doubled in the last several months.

Disclaimer:I got it for $209, so my 5+ stars rating is considering this price, not the price I see right now which is $334 or even $350+. I only have a 1 Gbyte/s USB port and this disk provides read speeds of 1 Gbyte/s for large files, always. As the disk fills up, the write speed drops to ~700+ Mb/s, which is still great for $209 that I paid, but not sure if it's that great for $330+. Normally, the more expensive drives have TLC NAND memory, SLC & DRAM caches. This one does use TLC memory and has (p?)SLC & DRAM cache, that's why it can sustain good write speeds of 700+ Mb/s even as it fills up. However, in the price range of $300 other drives may also have all these caches and provide high speeds. TL;DR: I'm absolutely happy I got it for $209. Not sure if I was equally happy if I paid the full current price of $330-350+ as the competitors in this price range can also provide very high speeds.

I was very pleased with the simplicity for installation and use. My Window 11 on multiple machines has had no problems with recognizing the drive or transferring data. Very pleased.

Piccolo, ben protetto e veloce come deve essere un SSD 3.2 gen 2x2 sia in lettura che in scrittura. Molto bene per files video di grosse dimensioni (1tb) sul MacBook M2 max. Ovviamente non aspettiamoci le velocità dichiarate che dipendono da diversi fattori e, ancora più, non pretendiamo che la porta USB 3.1 del nostro vecchio PC supporti la velocità del ssd 3.2 gen 2x2

Have been using this daily for 10-12 hours per day for several months now, great little SSD.

I'll start with the negatives. Like my other Transcend SSD portable drive it gets warm to the touch when operating. Not uncomfortably so but enough to notice. I also have not yet been able to reach the transfer rates shown. Other than that it is identical to my previous portable drive, but with an outer shell that probably absorbs some heat. It is small, lightweight and fits neatly into most places and pockets. You can buy cheaper portable drives but I have not had a Transcend fail yet so you pay your money and take your choice. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to either have a back-up or a handy, take anywhere, portable drive.
