After 10-15 minutes of driving it would turn off my dash cam [Viofo a229 plus] in my car [CHR 2024 PHEV] The dash cam works fine on the cigarette Lighter connection so that rules out issues with the dash cam or SD card. The length of the cable from the USB C connection to the voltage box was 75 inches, and from there 37 inches to the OBD connector.

I bought this hardwire kit for my REDTIGER F7N Touch. I originally tried using a Dongar mirror adapter, but it doesn't work on the Polestar 4 due to the digital rear-view mirror setup. After looking into alternative options, I decided to try this OBD2 power cable instead—and I honestly don't know why anyone would ever bother routing wires to a fuse box when this option exists. Installation could not be easier. You literally plug it into your OBD2 port, tuck the cable along your trim panels up to the mirror, plug in the USB-C connector, and you're done. That's the entire process. It even supports parking mode and includes a switch to set your low-voltage protection limit. Since I'm in an electric vehicle, I set mine to 12V to ensure I never have an issue with the 12V battery, and it works flawlessly. Honestly, REDTIGER should bundle this directly with the camera or list it as a primary option. The only minor critique—which a few other reviewers have noted—is that the cable could stand to be a bit longer. Ideally, the segment between the OBD2 plug and the voltage selector module would be shorter, giving more length to the USB-C cable running up to the camera. However, if you need extra reach, you can easily fix it by picking up a cheap USB-C extension cable. Even with the cable length layout, it gets an easy five stars from me for pure convenience, ease of installation, and seamless functionality. Highly recommended!

I bought this hardwire kit as a way to power my VIOFO dash cam and it works flawlessly. Installation was incredibly easy and the hardwire kit itself came with ample wire length so it covered all the distance I needed plus more if I ever decide to buy a larger car. Even better was how the kit itself shows the voltage of the car, it provides a great baseline on what the best option would be for when it should cutoff the power draw. This specific part of the kit came with a sticky pad so that you can mount it on a plastic trim if needed.

Absolutely perfect, so easy to install. This is the second one for me as I now have cameras on both of my cars. These guys also have the best customer service I've ever experienced online. If you have any issues they are extremely helpful, friendly and go above and beyond expectations. Don't waste your time with other brands 😉
