BOSS VE-22 Vocal Performer Multi-Effects Processor for Singers

Good product, lots of effects to combine and the looper function work perfect

The BOSS VE-22 Vocal Effects and Looper Pedal is a dynamic accessory for vocalists seeking a range of sound enhancements. It offers an array of effects, from harmonies and distortion to reverbs. With phantom power for condenser mics and a robust preamp for dynamic microphones, it's a versatile tool for live and studio settings. However, the gain knob, located at the rear, is notably small and can be challenging to adjust on the fly. The pedal offers more than a 100 customizable presets, emulating the post-production treatments found in professional vocal tracks. While the compact gain knob is a minor inconvenience, the VE-22's overall performance is impressive. It can also function as a preamp, bypassing effects for a natural microphone sound. The exclusion of a power adapter in the package is a drawback, but it can operate on Duracell batteries for portability. Despite minor issues, the BOSS VE-22 is a 5-star device, essential for any rock vocalist's arsenal

Great products

Great effects and for fine tuning your sound. Simple adjustments to find just the right tones. Compatible with almost any other equipment. Durable enough to travel with. Very valuable tool.

In my opinion this is a very expensive waste of money for a singer. Aside from the loop feature, there is nothing this can do that a much less expensive vocal processor cannot other than store presets. Good luck switching effects in the middle of a set, let alone a song. If you do have to switch effects in the middle of a song, it harshly cuts the effect off. Also, this unit is poorly made with plastic bottom which with without a doubt get broken just as all cheaply made equipment does. I do not recommend this product. Please do your research before you make an expensive mistake.

Amazon did a great thing for me on a defective product! I bought a Boss VE-22 foot pedal from Amazon on Nov 18, 2025. Because of holidays and illness, I did not open the box until about Feb 14, 2025. I put the batteries in and turned the pedal on. It immediately began to smoke and get very hot. It was defective. It was brand new and unuseable. I wrote to Amazon and told them about it. They called me and first told me that the return window date had come and gone. They gave me a link to Boss.com. I tried that and left a note on the Boss website. Boss does not make it easy and obvious to report a defective product. I was getting nowhere. After 24 hours had past, the Amazon representative, who had helped me a day or 2 before, called me. She said since the product was defective, that she would grant me a full refund upon return of the defective product to Amazon. She worked with me on the phone for several minutes. She was very polite. Her name was Pavi. She sent me a return authorization and a complete refund confirmation with all details. All I had to do was return the item to Amazon. I will do that today. I was very grateful and impressed that Amazon stood behind the product. That endears me more and increases my confidence to continue to regularly purchase from Amazon. Great policy!!

Well built and easy to use. Many options for vocal harmonies. As usual for such devices many sound a bit artificial. One would have to spend 10 times this amount to get a professional grade vocalizer. Most of the effects I will never use but there are a few I will. It is well laid out and accessible from the finger tap to a foot pedal. Many variations in effects you can use. I like it and will use it for all my performances.
