I was limited on space, and I needed a dimmer, and another switch... I also wanted to be able to glance at it and know whether or not the circuits were working..... This switch, does that for me... I can't see the light that the dimmer is dimming and I can't see the other circuit. The switch turns on.... So I can walk in the room and I can see if the LED s are brightly lit or not and know in an instant whether or not the circuits are energized... NOTE: It's important to note that the switch on This is only designed to operate 2.5 amps, or less! .... I will more more than likely use that circuit for Some low wattage LED lighting... It's marketed as a circuit to turn on a ceiling fan.. I completely understand how it's designed and I appreciate what Lutron did here. Customer service is also the best around.

This is an amazing switch. I added under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. With this switch you don’t need to expand to a 2 gang box which would have been difficult cutting tile. The switch is easy to install, the hot wire screws to the switch, the lights you want dimmed attaches to the red and your old sitch attaches to the yellow. There is no neutral wire. Ground to ground. Calibrating the dimmer is easy and it remembers the last setting. When turning off the light it fades to black which is really cool. The switch is pricey but saved me a ton of time. Lutron’s customer service is amazing, I used them for another previous issue and the resolved it quickly. Do not hesitate utilizing this switch. It is well worth it.

I live in a house built in the ‘40s with only some minor upgrades. I have a ceiling fan and three light fixtures controlled by a dual single gang switch. I had three LEDs in the fixtures for over 10 years. They were 60w equivalent and I usually found the light to be too dim, but I didn’t want constant glaringly bright light. This switch seemed like the perfect solution. It looked like an easy project, so I devoted time on Sunday to knock it out. I got everything hooked up per the instructions and nothing would work. The LEDs just blinked and the ceiling fan wouldn’t turn off. I researched online and only got more confused until I decided to take a chance and see if Lutron support was open on Sunday. They were! I explained my whole installation process and what was happening. I mentioned that I had old bulbs still in place because I wanted to get the switch working before I broke out the ladder to replace the bulbs. The agent told me that the bulbs were probably the culprit. (It didn’t make sense to me that the ceiling fan switch wouldn’t work either), but I changed the bulbs and the problem was solved! Even though I think about switches as being two separate circuits, there are internal electronics in these modern switches that are effected by each other. I’ve got a great new switch and I learned something new!!
