The Beadsmith Macrame Board, 11.5 x 15.5 inches, 0.5" Thick Foam

This was recommended by a macrame person I follow and since we were having trouble holding our cords in place I ordered on a whim. Pleasantly surprised! It's a very nice quality and looks larger than stated size. I love the grids with inches marked which really help in keeping the cords and knots aligned, which we are not very good at yet. The slots on all four edges is a big plus because many other brands we looked at didn't have them but on the top or top and one side. The price is quite reasonable for this quality and size and I would highly recommend this one over many of the others.

Much better quality than I expected. Not flimsy, stiff enough to stay flat without a table. I like to use it on my lap so this matters to me. I got the bigger one as well. Both are great!

This board IS A GAME-CHANGER! I was having great difficulty managing my macrame braided bracelets and necklaces. The pins were the perfect shape to manage holding my project in place. The notches around the edges were a brilliant idea by the manufacturer. It gives you full control of your project. If I was allowed to award 10 stars, I would.

Wanted to give 5 stars, but the booklet IS NOT INCLUDED, instead it has that stupid grid that u use with ur phone...other than that it's perfect for jewelry making

I used to do a lot of macrame in college (so 20 years ago) and recently decided to get back into it. I don't have a good work surface available right now, but I saw a macrame board in a book and thought that sounded like just the thing I needed. So I ordered this and I am very happy with it. (For reference, I pretty much only make jewelry, and this is definitely of sufficient size for bracelets and necklaces.) Mine did not smell when I took it out of the package. Perhaps it was a bit older or the manufacturing technique has changed. At any rate, the material, itself, was in good shape. I have always been one to tape instead of pin, and masking tape stuck to this pretty nicely. I did use it as a pincushion for a needle I was using periodically and I can't even see any marks from that, so I'm happy with the self-healing aspect. I didn't think, when I ordered this, that I would use the measurement grid, but it turns out that I did and found that quite handy. Much simpler and faster than pulling out a ruler. I am also a fan of the indentations around the edge. These are perfect for holding thinner cords of the sort you'd use to make jewelry. I didn't need them much for my earliest projects (kept it to about 4 strands and not a complex pattern), but I tried them out and thought they were a nice touch. This is a decent size to hold in your lap although you may want to rest the far edge against a desk or table. It is lightweight and about a half inch thick, plus it is rigid (with a little bit of give). It seems to have a non-slip surface, which is nice. Although I had never even heard of a macrame board before, I am now a big fan of this thing and will be using it a lot.

コルクボードと比較しての感想を言うと、こちらの方がピンを刺した時の安定感が良くてずれにくいので作業しやすい。ボードのサイズがA4より大きく面積が広いため作業しやすい。もうコルクには戻れないほど気に入った。 側面に切れ目があるのは一長一短で、糸を区別するのに便利な反面、必要ないのに糸が入り込む事もあるので作業のリズムが狂ってしまう事がある。 「自己修復式なので表面を傷つけることなくピンを使用できます」と書いてあるから、ピンを刺した穴が消えるのかと思ったら穴はしっかりと残ったまま。長く使い続けていくとどうなるのか気になるところ。 インチの模様は思いのほか使いづらくて、この材質でcmのボードが出て欲しいと節に願う
