Great device
The volume control seems cheap but it works just fine. I dont ever have to dime it… it’s just fine on 60-70%. If I need it louder I just turn up the input volume on my Apollo. Raising it too high will cause unwanted distortion on the audio interface (Apollo). The unit is great. I have a variety of great bass tones to choose from by using this.

My new favorite Go to, All in One Pedal.
I have been using this pedal for about a month now, and I love it. The settings I am using currently are compression, Studio, little bit of Octave (when it serves the song),as well as a bit of flanger. I also love that it has a tuner. I run that to a small amp for monitor purposes, then DI to front of house. This is my new favorite! *Clarification of how I use the tuner: I first tune my bass with a polytune clip by TC Electronic. Then to assure that the tuning is spot on, I check with the Line 6 POD tuner- the circle turns green. I adjust as needed.

Great for beginners pedal effects
After saveral months of research and review the Line 6 Pod express for Bass player like me is perfect. I don’t like complicated pedals and this one just hits the nail. Very easy to use and has the right number of sounds, control and effects to play along.Easy to carry and use. Effects are not too fancy or complicated. Couple of points to not - this pedal comes in without an adapter (you need to buy it saperately) and doesn’t have an inbuilt tuner (mentioned that it has but doesn’t display anything) other than that I’m very happy to fiddle along to get the right effect and tone. Cheers!!

Does not have a full function tuner
I was looking for a simple, all-in-one solution for practicing my bass using headphones. Essential functions for me are: headphone out, tone shaping (ideally amp emulation and compression), and tuner. The Pod express seems ideal. However, the "tuner" only tells you if a particular note is in tune, not what note it is; it would happily tell you that you're in tune with your E string tuned to D. Fine if you're already tuned up and just need to check your tuning, but if you are putting on new strings you will need a pitch fork, or a real tuner, or some other reference pitch. So unfortunately this pedal is un-usable for my purposes. Line 6 saved a few bucks by not including either a small LCD or a super simple LED display. Considering that this pedal also allows saving and recall of presets, seems like that was a really bad choice for UI. I would have no problem paying $20 more to have a display, and a real onboard tuner.

Pedalboard replacement
The sound quality is great and there are a lot of amp models to choose from. I really recommend digging in to the app so you can fine tune things like the compressor, dirt settings, and swap cabs. I personally thought most of the cabs didn't sound great, but I found one I liked and use it for everything. It's made of plastic but I don't have any concerns about it breaking. For the money you're getting Helix tones that sound really nice. To get the most out of it you may also want to get something to add 2 additional switches. One complaint is even using the 4 switch method, you can't bounce around to different presets. You need to build one with all the effects you want. This is mostly fine unless you want to be able to switch between 2 different gain pedals, which you can't do. You can always switch to a different preset, but you're going in order, so going from preset 1 to preset 3 means you have to go to 2 first. It's not a seemless switch like a Stomp would be, though you're paying a fraction of the price. You could easily gig with this or just use it for home practice/recording.

Great device. Get the camera adaptor for iPhone use.
If you're looking for inspiration, this pedal will give you the sounds you need. For iPhone use, you need the camera adaptor, but with that, the app works well.
