Petra Max Rock Glue for Landscaping, Pet-Safe & Non-Toxic (USA-Made), 32 Oz

We have a lot of areas with 1/4-1/2 inch gravel stone that our dog loves to dig up. She does not do that anymore. It takes several coats, but this stuff works very well. As an added bonus, I like that it dries in such a way that it leaves the stones with a shiny wet look. It seems to take about a half day to dry one coat. Maybe faster if it’s hot or you have full sun. Go in knowing that this is not going to work with a single coat. I think I used 4-5 coats. It’s quite difficult to pry the stones up now. When it rains, the glue does liquify again. I would imagine in time it will degrade, but we’ll see.

I just redid my side yard and had gravel put in around the walkway. The loose rocks drove me crazy so I purchased gravel glue - two 32 ounce bottles, along with the applicator. The first time, I screwed up the mix ratio and watered it down. The second bottle, followed the directions on the back and applied it correctly (I think) using their applicator, which I love! I Waited for it to cure and it held and it held well. I was happy. Then we were inundated with rain that lasted for three days. The glue held really well in the large sections of gravel, but not other sections - particularly between the pavers. It was as if I didn’t apply the glue at all. I didn’t understand what I did wrong as I had applied it evenly throughout. I knew that the application needed to be fixed/adjusted, and likely due drainage and moisture. I messaged the company with my questions. After sending them pictures, explaining the water to glue ratio I used, they recommended that, due to the heavy rain we’ve been getting, I try a 1:1 ratio, and apply 2-3 coats. I am going to do that when we are not expecting rain for a day or two. It’ll work - not concerned. Again, it held up in other sections, just not all. As for the glue - here’s a picture following my second application. I do like that it has a color to it when you apply it, but dries clear. The gravel against the house - large sections believe it or not - are the sections that held and the glue is still intact. With the exception of the gutters, there’s no overhang that gives that section shelter - so not sure why there it held, and not everywhere else. Again, I suspect drainage or moisture that may have existed before I applied, but that’s a guess. I would just make sure the area is completely dry, no rain expected for a couple of days, and if you live in an area that is experiencing a lot of rain, thicken the glue and apply 3 coats. Of course, you can always reach out to the company with any questions, and ask for guidance before you start the process. They are responsive and extremely helpful. Also, get their applicator! It’s easy to use and makes the application easier allowing you to evenly distribute it throughout sections. But I do want to give a shoutout to the Petra! I appreciated their responsiveness and their willingness to walk me through the steps, and come up with an alternative solution. A company that is willing to do that, without issue, is a good company to stand behind and support. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I followed the directions exactly when using Rockscape Rock Glue Max. I made sure the rocks were clean and dry, applied it as directed, and let everything cure well over the recommended timeframe. At first, it seemed to work pretty well. The pebbles were definitely staying in place much better than before, although I will say they never hardened together quite as strongly as I expected for such small rocks. For about the first week everything looked fine, even through hot temperatures. However, after we got one really heavy rain, it almost seemed like the glue partially dissolved or shifted. That surprised me because the product states it only takes a few days to fully dry/cure, and mine had already been sitting for over a week. Now, every time it rains, I can visibly see a white film or residue appear over the rocks and glue areas. Once everything dries again it looks mostly normal, but the pea pebbles are starting to loosen, shift, and wash out of place again. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to redo the entire area. I don’t have large landscaping stones I specifically used very small pea-sized pebbles so maybe this product performs better with larger rock. Based on my experience, though, it just did not hold up the way I expected it to, especially after rain exposure. I really wanted to love it because the reviews seemed overall positive, but for my project it unfortunately did not last.

I used Petra Max Rock Glue to stabilize decorative gravel and small landscape rocks, and it worked very well. The application was straightforward, and once dry, it held everything in place while still maintaining a natural appearance. I also appreciate that it's pet-safe and dries clear, so it doesn't affect the look of the landscaping. Great solution for reducing rock movement and keeping garden beds neat and tidy. Would purchase again.

UPDATE: moved to 5 stars. Customer service was great in helping me figure out what was wrong (shade and dampness) sunny areas were fantastic and applying another application to shady areas. Original: Applied two bottles of glue to pebbles. Spray on only as mixing ahead of application was not an option. It appears the first bottle worked well but the second not so much. Only difference was that the second application was applied to pebbles in a shady location but it was dry and well above 50 degrees. Would I buy again, I am not sure. Trying to contact manufacturer to understand what might have gone wrong.

Easy to apply and works great so far. I sprayed a week ago and absolutely no movement of pebble gravel.

A big bucket of Elmers glue! Water it down 1:1 into a sprayer and you can glue your gravel in place. Also makes the gravel look more colorful (like when you get rocks wet, their color is more pronounced). Challenging to get all the glue out of the sprayer when you’re done, but it’s worth it. No more gravel kicked up on the sidewalk!
