Beautiful, ease to play and fun. Not the greatest replayability though
Nice game. Core mechanics are quite simple, so its beginner-friendly. In the long run, maybe is a good idea to combine this one with the others from the saga

Better than Splendor
This is a fantastic engine building, deck building, and hand management game. It’s often compared to Splendor. It’s different enough from Splendor that you could own both and not feel like it’s redundant. The components in the Golem Edition are beautiful and top quality. Game play is identical to the original Century Spice Road, but this version is much more aesthetically attracting and appealing. A great gateway game that has a single, double-sided sheet for rules. Can be taught in 5 minutes, but has infinite replayability. It also supports up to 5 players so it’s a good game for higher player counts. The metal coins are a great touch and along with the colorful resin crystals add a wonderful tactile immersion to the game. Highly recommended for adults and family gaming alike.

Best game!
I'm not a fan of games in general, but I played this with friends before buying it myself because I liked it so much! It's slower paced and fairly simple, but strategy is still important to winning. The cards are thick and durable, the coins are actual metal, the artwork is beautiful, and the little crystals, though plastic, are durable and nice with no pointy seams. The box is also sturdy, it's great long term storage and won't fall apart like some other games with thinner box material. I highly recommend this, it's a lot of fun!

Fantastic Light Game, Great Quality Components. Can't Add Century Expansions to Golem Edition.
I had originally played the regular version (Century Spice Road) and really enjoyed the game mechanics. The Golem Edition is even better because of the high quality components and gorgeous art. The resources are gems and they actually look like gems (whereas the Spice Road version simply uses colored cubes). The art on all of the cards is so colorful and pretty. The game box has a built in organizer to keep the box tidy and ready to go each time you want to play. Additionally, the gem components (the game's form of currency) each have their own little bowl to keep your table organized while you play. This is now a house-favorite in the "fast and easy" board game category. I have some non-gamer roommates that even love sitting down to play. Century Golem Edition is an awesome engine builder that has very simple rules isn't a brain burner. It limits turn length to a single action per player and doesn't let anyone snowball out of control. The only downside with Century Golem Edition is that Plan B announced that they would not be creating a Golem Edition of the expansions available for Century Spice Road (Century: Eastern Wonders - already available, and another to be released in 2019). If you are interested in eventually purchasing the expansions, you will have to purchase the standard edition of this game.

Visually stunning board game!
This game is well made with quality plastic gems and metal coins, not cheap plastic. Also the art on the on the board pieces are well done and graphically beautiful. This game is great for kids and adults or a combo of both. There is strategy involved, yet there are different types of strategy based on skill level, making it fun for all. You can play this game with 2 to 5 players or you can create teams, making it fun for a variety of sized groups. This game makes a great gift!

Really fun and great art
After watching videos on Youtube on how to play it, my family and I decided to get this game and we've had zero regrets. The artwork is beautiful, the gameplay is fun and offers a lot of replayability regardless of how many players and it's really easy to set up and explain as well. If you're on the fence about it, check out some videos on how it works, but it's basically a deck-builder (lite) with some resource management elements to it. It's a bit slow and not as "competitive" as other games (you don't interact nor interfere with other players and their plans throughout) and, I think, that's part of its charm. If you've played Splendor, this is similar, just less hectic and requires a bit more planning ahead. Highly recommend if you're into aesthetic, chill board games.

Best game of the holiday!
We are avid board game fans and acquired 10 new ones over the holiday. This hands down is unanimously the whole family's favorite. It even beats out Splendor. It feels like a well balanced game with lots of room for various strategies. The gems and metal coins are a nice component and the cards are a good size with nice art. It plays great as a 2 player game but even more fun as a 4 or 5 player game. We have played in about 8 times since opening it and I see much more use of this game in the future. If you are a fan of games like Splendor or Dragonwood then this will be fun for you. We played with a range from adult down to 7yo and everyone loved it. Update December 2020: We have now had this game two years and it is played in a regular basis. We have 200+ games and this is in our top 10. Now that I have had a chance to play it many times, I see the brilliance in the engine mechanism. There is many ways to generate an engine in this game. I love to try out new combinations and various strategies. Nobody in my family of 5 ever grows fired of this one.

A Masterpiece of Strategy and Aesthetics!
I really enjoy board games. I am trying to get friends and family interested in them too and Century golems is a great easy to learn game to play. Century: Golem Edition is an absolute gem in the world of board games. From the moment I opened the box, I was captivated by the stunning artwork and attention to detail. The golem-themed components are beautifully crafted, adding an immersive and visually appealing dimension to the game. The gameplay itself is nothing short of brilliant. The combination of resource management, card drafting, and strategic planning is executed flawlessly. Each decision feels meaningful, and every move has consequences, making for a deeply engaging experience. The mechanics are easy to grasp, making it accessible for both casual gamers and seasoned strategists. It was nice because even though I'm a seasoned gamer and my parents were not, my mom was able to win because her strategy was better than mine. The game strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and depth. While it's easy to learn and get started, the layers of strategy unfold over time, providing ample room for mastery and repeated plays. This makes it a versatile choice for various gaming groups and skill levels. The replayability of Century is great so far. I haven't been tired of playing the game even though we have played it multiple nights in a row. The randomized market tiles and card distribution ensure that each game feels fresh and offers new challenges. It's also a great game for seniors who need some extra time thinking between turns. The game also accommodates different playstyles. Whether you prefer to focus on building an efficient engine, racing for high-value golems, or employing a balanced approach, there are multiple viable strategies to explore. I like watching my parents try different strategies to win. Sometimes my mom hoards gems until the last minute. I like to try to make golem combinations. I like the artwork, so I imagine I'm making a friendly golem town and try to go for sets. It makes the game more challenging for me and it gives others a chance to win. I really like how the rulebook is a single piece of hard cardstock. I can keep it on the table next to me in case there are any questions without having to flip through an extensive rule book. It also provides excellent examples, making it easy to reference during play.
