Works Great!! Housing Doesn't Stay On
Very reliable module! Never any problem connecting to a USB port. Housing is cheap. Didn't stay together.

Used for Whelen serial communications
This works as expected. I used it to program a Whelen MPC01 controller that uses serial communications. The blue wire goes to tx+ and the grey to tx-. also, ground on the usb to 12v-. I used the included CD to install the driver onto a Windows 7 laptop and it worked great.

Works Great
I was on a job site and my old RS-485 converter went bad. I ordered this as a quick replacement and it worked flawlessly. It is still in my travel tool bag.

Worked out of the box
Worked out of the box. I was able to characterize a poorly documented ModBus relay module without the added complexity of solving the RS485 interfacing. Windows 10 found the necessary driver automatically.

It's built cheaply but it definitely works
So, it's a cheap, little, (485/422) serial-to-usb converter. It might even be opto-isolated. I like how you can look inside the housing! It has power, TX and RX red LED's. Using Modbus Poll, I was able to have this thing zipping along at 9600 bps in no time. This is NOT for RS-232, which I don't need for my purposes. I do think it's a wee bit cheaply constructed. I fear the clear casing is going to crack open inside my messy toolbag, so I'll put it in it's shipping box first. Also, the terminal block is not removable, so, don't trip on that modbus wire! The terminal block also seems like it'll age real fast, especially if you over-tighten the screws. IDK, I have a feeling it's going to fail one day. Other than that, it's WAY more portable than my other clunky adapter.

Needed this for work to connect to some equipment that talks RS485. The adapter worked great with my Windows 10 laptop.
