Lowest price for all the features that I wanted.
Wasn't sure I wanted a wifi phone controlled bot, but so far the wifi has been flawless. I knew what features I wanted and I wanted a wired bot. I would have preferred the larger basket model but what a difference in price to get all these features with large basket, $400 more for the e70 model. The e40 has active cleaning roller, manual steering which is a benefit of wifi control. I really like the manual steering control. I'm very happy with the E40 model, thus far. Both of my sons have lower end Dolphin bots and they have been very reliable for them. Now that I,m getting older, that I realize vacuuming is for the young.

Terrible product. All kinds of problems and no contact from seller.
If I could do 0 stars I would. Right out the box this thing was having issues. Disconnecting from the wifi (its 20 feet away from the router), stopping cleaning because "something is stuck in the wheels" (there wasn't), and stopping the clean because the (power supply). Have not been able to get a hold of the seller after 3 phone calls being on hold 24 minutes, 27 minutes, and 46 minutes. Cant get a hold of anyone so cant request a refund or replacement. Do not buy this product. Its a waste of money to be this expensive and not work properly, and not be able to contact anyone for support.

A little expensive for what you get, but not a bad choice.
Does the job. Comes with moderate-sized filters, and is very effective at removing debris from the bottom of the pool--but with those filters, you can watch as it blows sediment out its top vent. And maytronics is *awful* about explaining compatibility or retaining their line-up; it takes a while to find what filters are or are not compatible. (For example, the E40 actually has *two* form factors: one uses a basket, while the one I just received uses a pair of thinner cartridges and is compatible with the "Nautilus CC Plus" line's filters--but *not* the ones from the "Nautilus CC" line. See?) I moved to this bot from an Aiper: a cordless bot with a wide-mesh, basket filter. It too was great at removing bottom debris, and both of these bots appear to scrub walls well. But there's a lot of sediment endemic in my area, and the Aiper doesn't have the power to push water through a fine-mesh filter--so they don't even sell one. This corded Explorer *does* have that power, and it *does* support fine-mesh filters (again, if you can find them to buy them separately). So, it's an improvement from an efficacy standpoint. It's frustrating to have to use an app to drive a stupid cleaning cycle--though in truth you can drop in the robot then push the power-supply button until it turns blue, and it will rerun the last program. However, with the app you can set up a daily cycle of making the bot run at, for example, 4am for a 3h cycle--so your pool is clean every morning. That's pretty nice. One thing to keep in mind is that maytronics is moving away from their corded line of residential bots. This E40 is, very likely, already out of production--so you're buying a bot that you *know* won't have replacement parts in 5 years. The filters are at least compatible with some of their newer battery-driven bots, though, so it's not unreasonable.

Very Happy so far. Great replacement for 10 year old M400.
This unit is to replace my nearly 10 year old Dolphin M400. As far as I could tell, the specs from this unit to the M400 are identical. 3 motors - 2 drive and 1 impellar (same as the M400). 4500 gallons per hour of water movement (same as the M400). Cleans sides and water lines and lets you use ultra fine filters as well - (did not come with these specifically - but had them from using my M400 and they are the exact same fit) It came with just the 1 basic set of filters. I have ran it probably 5 times now - just got it 5 days ago, and so far this unit - like the M400 has no problem with pool drains. I don't use the app - so I can't say anything about that, sorry.

Better than Most but Problematic
This is our 9th robotic pool cleaner and have had issues with all. The 2 Wybots being absolutely horrible. The three major issues with the Dolphin is: it is tethered, very heavy and the power supply. It is so heavy that it's very difficult for my wife to handle the cleaner. The power supply can't be in direct sunlight and must be vented. Most pools are outside and think this is a significant design flaw. Lastly, they've done Nothing to improve wifi connectivity. It ONLY runs on 2Ghz and if your signal isn't maxed you will have connection issues. The good: it cleans well.

It will stop working in a few months
This is my second Dolphin pool cleaner. I’m encountering an error signal on the main power unit, causing the lights to alternate between green and blue. I had a similar issue with a similar model three years ago. I sent it back for warranty work, and it lasted until the warranty expired before failing again. Now, I’m in the same situation with a dolphin cleaner that’s only seven months old. Before purchasing this machine, consider your options.

Stuck in ledge , doesn’t clean shallow ends, cleaning mode isn’t accurate.
It’s a beautiful product. The app is easy to use. This robot would get stuck in the ledge of my pool so many times it wasn’t worth it for me. This robot doesn’t vacuum shallow ends under 30 inches. Customer support has been very attentive but the suggestions didn’t do much to fix the issues. Had to send it back.
