Using them to help with trailer safety chains
I'm using them to help the trailer (hitch) because the trailer safety chains can't adequately hook to my hitch. These are PERFECT. I'm leaving them on the hitch and the chains now hook in easily. Perfect.

Great Way To Join Straps and Chain Sections.
These are a good value for the money. Stainless steel threads seem to be harder and more durable than what I'm used to. The 1/2" version (what I purchased) has enough space to accommodate a smaller tow strap or ratchet strap. These gave me flexibility when I needed to extend the length of the ratchet strap to a farther grab location. They are very functional due to link size, link diameter and smoothness of the threads on each side. Nice.

Summary: Previously ordered smaller 4mm shackles from MUKSIRON, to use in situations where I need a more secure connection, rather than the convenience of quick release. Will be comparing this 3/8" (~8mm) offering by BETTER-BOAT-STORE to those. Observations: You can verify 304SS material by using a very strong magnet (SS is slightly magnetic). Should also check operation upon receipt. Recommendation: While these are 304SS, if subjected to a high humidity or seawater environment, they can still corrode. Keep them clean (washed with fresh water), after direct salt water exposure. Pros: Fair fit and finish; cost is comparable to similar size offering. Cons: BETTER-BOAT-STORE only has 11 'stainless' related products offered, and they are not hardware specific (non-specialty). Conclusion: At $16 for 4 pieces ($4.00/each), rating this 4-stars (non-specialty).
