It's small & compact for on the go as well. My daughter really likes using this book & enjoys the lessons. They use colorful images to make it fun & more appealing to kids. The examples, definitions, & instructions are easy to follow & not confusing at all, like some other workbooks. We homeschool, and I definitely recommend using this book. Even if you use it as an extra activity to help your child get more from their lessons, it's an absolute fabulous book. Review: Homeschool book - Excellent book! I use this to Help homeschool my son. Fat book for homeschool
I bought these books because my daughter is homeschooled. She needed something to help her stay engaged, the computer has too many distractions. I like these books because she likes them and she understands how to do her work. This book is very detailed, it was a great investment. I even use it to brush up on my math skills.

Best educational resource for kids
Ok so I LOVE this. I recently discovered the Big Fat Notebooks, and ordered several. My kids absolutely love these! Very informative, well written, up to date on events and seems to be very accurate on information and details. Kid friendly for sure! (My boys especially enjoy them) They are tailored to keep the mind engaged while still being a great learning tool. I appreciate the effort put into these books, and will absolutely be ordering more as our homeschool journey continues.

You need another book with this one.
I just got this book. I was reading it, about to start using it with my middle schooler only to realize you have to have the notebook enable to use this book. YOU NEED TO BUY ANOTHER BOOK to be able to use with this book. It is called : Everything You Need to Ace English Language Arts in One Big Fat Notebook, 2nd Edition: The Complete Middle School Study Guide I wish it would tell the purchaser this in the description so I could have purchased it at the same time. Now I have to wait a couple of days to get it and then we can start our lessons.

Great book
I got this book as a supplement for my 8th grader as a preparation for highschool and SAT but it's turned out to be a real lifesaver! I have no idea how my kid's managed to get A in ELA even though he hates and struggles with the subject. We didn't realized the severity of it until we got this book and he told me it's too hard because he had no idea what a clause or a phrase is. I nearly cried in despair lol. What on earth are they teaching these kids in school?? My 2nd grader doesn't even understand what a verb or a noun is! It seems all they teach is reading comprehension, which really baffles me. Shouldn't grammar be the first thing to be taught? How do they expect these kids to understand a whole essay and write out a proper answer if they can't even identify the structure of a single sentence? I'm very glad I found this gem of a book so we can start catching up on all the basic knowledge that my kid has been missing out on. The explanation is straight forward and easy to understand. I really appreciate this as English is my second language and most of the time I end up having to read through and relearn a lot of these stuffs myself so I can properly explain it to my kid lol. I also got the Algebra I and my kid loves that one since it's his favorite subject.

A favorite in our homeschoolโperfect for 7th grade
Iโve been homeschooling for 10 years and this book is a standout. Itโs clear, engaging, and covers everything I want for 7th grade English. The exercises are useful without feeling repetitive, and the format is super easy to follow. I love having a resource that reinforces skills in a way that actually sticks. Definitely a keeper in our homeschool lineup!

Great, but does have mistakes
Parts of this book are great, amazing actually. But other parts are flat out wrong. At first we thought every book has a mistake, that's okay, but it has several. It has been good practice to see what our child catches for mistakes, but unless you know the subject well, and are helping your child navigate through them, this may get them into trouble in some areas.
