Small rig is a big win, again. I bought a 6" tripod last year and was very impressed, and now this little phone clip, well made, rotational, no wobble, firm, good looking. All metal, and so on. Seriously, for the money there is some value here.

Works great with the Small Rig brand camera stand that clamps onto my desk. Easy to remove and install. The clamp on either side of the phone is very stiff. It was a little difficult for me to get it in place on my phone, but once I did, it was clear that it was NOT moving. This is a made product sold for a fair price.

I have other tripod smartphone holders, and they have annoying shortcomings. I love this one because it just plain works. It is versatile enough to do everything I want. It is quick, intuitive, and easy to use. The size and weight are excellent. I TRUST IT to hold my phone. Bottom line: This is a product of enlightened design, solid engineering, ideal materials, and high-quality production standards. I can't give it six stars, so five will have to do.

This mount is beautifully made and feels like a premium piece of gear, but there are a couple of shortcomings worth noting before you buy. 1) Extremely stiff bottom hinge The lower hinge is so tight that it feels like I might damage the adapter during normal adjustments. I would never try to reposition it while it’s sitting in a camera’s hot shoe since I’d expect to stress or even break the camera. The risk is even higher when using lightweight cold shoes found on many accessories. 2) Jaw opening is too small for modern phones My Samsung S25 Ultra with a Rockform Mag case barely fits where the case slims down (yet I would not use it as is - and yes I know, and own, the magnetic version of this adapter). While it’s a large combo, premium phones are trending bigger, and this feels like an oversight. Even my older Samsung Note 8 with a much slimmer case barely fits. Fix for Issue #2 (see pictures) The jaw opens as far as the long metric screw and spring allow. I added two 6 mm standoffs (3 mm male to female threads), which makes the adapter a bit less elegant but lets it hold both of my phones with their cases perfectly. It also reduces how much the spring needs to compress, so inserting the phone is easier. Recommendation SmallRig should consider widening the jaw by about 6 mm. Since this adapter will likely be used by people who care about smartphone photography, it should accommodate premium phones, which are often larger by design.

Best phone holder

I’ve used plenty of phone mounts that feel like they’re going to break the second you tighten them, but this SmallRig mount is built differently. The all-metal construction feels solid, the adjustments are smooth, and it holds my phone securely without any wobble. The cold shoe mount is a great addition for adding a microphone or small light, making it perfect for filming, travel, and outdoor content. The ability to adjust the angle and position makes it much more versatile than basic phone clamps. This is the kind of gear you buy once and stop thinking about because it just works. SmallRig nailed the design.

Avevo bisogno di un supporto solido per tenere lo smartphone sul mio cage, e questo SmallRig si è rivelato esattamente quello che cercavo, senza compromessi e senza sorprese negative. Prima di tutto, la costruzione: è in metallo, e si sente, nel senso che quando lo prendi in mano hai subito la sensazione di avere qualcosa di serio tra le dita, non uno di quei supportini che sembrano cedere alla prima stretta, questo invece trasmette solidità dal primo momento, e dopo un po' di utilizzo continuo non ha perso nemmeno un millimetro di quella rigidità iniziale. Gli snodi meritano una menzione particolare, perché spesso è proprio lì che i supporti economici tradiscono, con giunti troppo morbidi che nel tempo si allentano e non tengono più la posizione, qui invece la tensione è calibrata nel modo giusto, abbastanza fluida da poter orientare il telefono senza dover fare forza eccessiva, ma allo stesso tempo abbastanza ferma da mantenere esattamente l'angolazione che si imposta, sia in orizzontale che in verticale. Il passaggio tra modalità paesaggio e ritratto è semplice e intuitivo, si regola tutto senza arnesi particolari e si adatta allo smartphone in pochi secondi, anche quando si è in movimento o si ha fretta di sistemare il setup, la larghezza regolabile tra 57 e 88 mm copre praticamente qualsiasi telefono di dimensioni normali senza problemi. La slitta fredda è un dettaglio che per me fa tutta la differenza, perché ho montato direttamente su di essa una luce controllabile via bluetooth, e il risultato finale è un sistema compatto in cui tutto è a portata di mano, posso gestire sia la luce che lo smartphone senza dover spostare nulla, senza cavi che ballano in giro e senza dover ricorrere ad adattatori aggiuntivi o soluzioni di fortuna. La verniciatura è rifinita bene, uniforme, senza sbavature o punti in cui il metallo è rimasto grezzo, il che non è scontato in questa categoria di accessori, spesso si trovano prodotti che all'occhio sembrano ok ma che da vicino mostrano imperfezioni, qui invece la qualità estetica è in linea con quella costruttiva. In definitiva, se cercate un supporto per smartphone da integrare in un setup più articolato, che sia stabile, ben costruito e che offra una certa flessibilità di posizionamento, questo SmallRig fa il suo lavoro in modo impeccabile, senza fronzoli e senza punti deboli evidenti dopo un utilizzo continuato.

Quería un soporte para colocar el móvil en mi Nikon D750 y este es perfecto quede muy seguro al ser metálico tiene calidad y no ocupa mucho porque es pequeño y a la vez robusto lo recomiendo.
