Fire-Maple Petrel G3 Ultralight Camping Pot, Foldable Handle, 600ml

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Fire-Maple Petrel Ultralight Pot has been an excellent addition to my backpacking gear. The quality is outstanding, especially considering how lightweight it is. It feels durable enough to handle regular use on the trail without showing much wear. The size is perfect for solo camping or cooking small meals, and it packs away easily without taking up much room in my pack. One feature I really appreciate is the pour spout—it makes pouring boiling water much easier and helps prevent spills. Boil times have been excellent, allowing me to get water ready quickly for coffee, freeze-dried meals, or oatmeal. Overall, it’s a well-designed, durable, and lightweight pot that performs exactly as I hoped. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to save weight without sacrificing quality.

This is the perfect pot for a camp stove! I’ve had one for a couple of years and used it many times backpacking with my daughter. She recently stole ours and put it with her gear so she can go hiking with friends and I immediately bought the same one so I’ve still got one also. It boils water significantly faster than a pot with a flat bottom and is super light, packable(everything fits inside it—stove, fuel, and lighter in the included drawstring bag), and sturdy. The handle folds out to protect your hand from heat, and collapses over and over without wearing out. Such a great value. LOVE!

This thing is fantastic! I used to manage an outdoor shop, and I would be very stressed if I knew a competitor was selling this stove. It was $25? I think, which is $75-$100 cheaper than the name brand competition. This boils water as fast as a jet boil. 0.5L in two minutes (this is what a jet boil basically does, which changes with altitude, temperature, air pressure, fuel type etc etc etc). The weight is 163grams empty, and fits my 100gram gas canister, base, and burner. My burner is a swivel type, so the three blades rotate out and around the top, this makes it so it definitely fits inside the three recesses in the base of the pot. I’m sure the three fixed bladed burner will fit this fine, I just don’t have one of those to check. This is without a doubt, one of the best, if not the best backpacking pots on the market, for quality, efficiency, and price. Because it’s a quarter of the price of a jet boil. Another very good point in my opinion. I don’t like the jet boil because the stove burner is built into the pot, which makes it more efficient than this, but then you can never use the burner for anything other than that. I can take this pot off and fry something in a pan afterwards, or reheat a mug of coffee, I can give it to a friend and they can use my stove for all their gear, but you can’t do that with a jet boil. So this thing is genuinely fantastic, and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this product to people I care about.

It's quite light, and the handle locks securely in both positions. I can see why it tells you to be careful about squeezing the handle though, as while it does lock securely, it also doesn't take a strongman to unlock it. This is actually lighter than the little aluminum pan, pot, cup and plate set from Walmart. Nice little size, too. I bought one of the off-brand fuel canister stabilizers and it doesn't fit evenly, about 1/8" too big for that, so it's gonna be somewhat slanted in the pot. One review said it's slanted on their stove so I looked, two of the three slits in the base are clear of obstruction, but the third has the flux thing off-centered. Might bend it out just a bit if it affects how the stove locks with it. I'll update in a couple of weeks about performance, just thought I'd put those aspects out there for now. Edit 7/17/2040: I just tried it for the first time with the Fire Maple Greentree, which it's made to be paired with, and I had it MAYBE 1/3-open to boil 1.5c water to be able to reconstitute some freeze dried food, and the rubber on the handle melted and it was too hot to pick up bare-handed. I used the Gas One Isobutane-propane gas mix. I don't know if I picked the wrong fuel but it seems that mix is the standard one every isobutane canister has. Or maybe it's such a good stove that I could turn it down further? If so, then this is my mistake and I will adjust accordingly. But if not, then... But for now I'm keeping it at 5 stars because I honestly didn't expect the rubber to work in the first place. It boiled this 1.5c in under a minute with the lid off and since all my packs of food are either 1c or 1.5c, I'm very happy with the performance. Edit 3/7/26: Since they increased their number of options, I'll specify that the above was for the G3. I upgraded to the Ramen Pot and am much happier. The pot can actually nest the Greenpeak 1 stove, one of those orange plastic stands, a 100g fuel canister and a rolled up handkerchief without issue, unlike the G3; is much easier to clean; can fit an ample meal for one person (or, for me, at least); and has a metal lid, not a plastic one. I finally tried to cook with the plastic lid on and it stuck to the metal, not heat resistant at all. The Ramen Pot is the perfect size for a block of ramen without breaking it up (probably figures the name, huh?), and you can stack two in there comfortably. So far I've used it to cook fajita and rice, beef and broccoli, various soups and beans and such, some chicken alfredo, some of those bagged frozen skillet meals you can get at the grocery, spaghetti and meatballs, and bunch of other stuff. It's a great pot.

I am giving this 4 stars with some caveats. This pot actually got me back into isobutane stoves (I have a lot of liquid stoves). The "Petrel" technology is great, especially since it supports 3- and 4-tier stoves. It helps with wind resistance and is really efficnent with pots like this. Not all Fire Maple stoves work with this (either due to design or quality problems -- a pair of pliers can fix this in most cases ;-) ). The downside (pic attached), is that I used this pot on other stoves that did not have the vanes to attach. Eventually, the metal on the bottom ablated (not sure of the term). But, I still liked this pot so much I got another and am now careful to only use it with the "oetrel" method. I wish Fire Maple would upgrade this to strenghen the bottom. I also bought the smaller pot with rice cooker attachment. (okay, not as good as the Keith, but way less expensive). I still recommend, just be careful how you use.

The main reason I love this pan is because the bottom of it has notches that fit over my MSR Pocket Rocket stove. The pans I have used before just sat on top of the burner and weren't very secure, especially if I didn't get it centered just right. The Fire-Maple makes it so much easier to do and I dont have to worry about it tipping because its not centered. It also seems to boil water faster than my other pans. I was concerned about the tiny handle and getting a steam burn but the holes in the cover disperse the steam up and away (still be careful) and the handle, while tiny, is silicone and doesn't get hot to the touch. It says you can nest a fuel canister inside but I use the larger canisters so instead I put my 8 oz coffee cup, stove, and lighter in it. Worked fantastic on my backpacking trip!

I bought this to go with my smaller propane camp stove. Much to my surprise the camp stove fits perfectly inside of the pot for easy storage. I did try this side by side with a small nonstick pot and this heat exchanger design saves about a minute on a rolling boil. With my stove I can get it in about 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Not record breaking but it adds a lot of versatility to my burner and the cutouts fit perfectly as well adding stability. Handle works okay. It doesnt get hot or anything but it's just a little on the flimsy side. It flipping up and holding the lid on for packing is a nice touch. If you're ONLY boiling water a jet boil may be lighter and quicker but if you want versatility this thing is awesome. Photo of my quick after hunt meal and setup.

This pot is awesome! I am including my review of the Fire Maple Greenpeak 2 stove with this review for reference. As far as specifics for this product, the pot, it is on point. The perfect small size, making it extremely compact and easy to use. The pot is extremely usable with great heat levels (again using the Greenpeak 2 stove). The lid stays on well and functions adequately. The only two issues I have is the lid is hard to see through which allows you to miss when the water is boiling. The only other issue i have is the inside the pot fluid level marks are hard to read. But for the price-point use and size this thing is awesome. Here is my review for same brand stove I matched with the pot: I am replicating All, this stove is awesome! I have been an avid backpacker and hunter my whole life. I have owned and tried everything fro Colemans to MSRs, to JetBoils and etc. This size and price point of this stove and the G3 ultralight pot which I also reviewed is amazing! Especially compared to other brands and their price points and sizes. Being an off brand I was nervous, but I was looking for a ultra small pot to put in my pack for day hunting trips figuring if for some reason the stove didn't work, oh well I was only out one meal. Well after using it for the hunting season, I think this may replace my backpacking name brand stove for two or three night hikes! The size is amazingly small. The durability on point and with the previously mentioned pot with a small gas canister it all fits into one awesome package. After meeting a couple of my base camp partners int he woods and making them food, they now want one also. Well, I like this product so much that I bought to more stoves and pots to give them for holiday presents! I will try to take pictures the next time I am out with the kit and will update this review if for some reason the stove lets me down in the field; however, I used this for about 20 days this year without issues! BTW for reference I used this stove at around the 5,000 ft elevation level all the way down to sea level.

Very happy with this pot so far. Size is like my previous pot, but weights much less, locking handle is practical. It would be nice if they would sell neoprene sleeve for it, like for other models. This sleeve helps to boil water faster and keeps it warm longer.

A great lightweight 750ml pot. Works great with my Soto windmaster stove and optional tri-flex pot support stand. A quick boil time with the heat coil, definitely impressed.

Der Fire Maple G2 ist für mich der schnellste und beste Kocher, den ich bisher genutzt habe. Die Leistung ist beeindruckend – Wasser kocht extrem schnell, was besonders bei kaltem Wetter oder nach einem langen Wandertag sehr angenehm ist. Ich nutze den Kocher hauptsächlich mit dem Fire Maple Greenpeak Pot, aber auch der Fire Maple Hornet Pot passt gut dazu und ist etwas kompakter. Ein großer Vorteil für mich ist die Druckregulierung des Kochers. Da ich häufig im Winter unterwegs bin, ist eine stabile Leistung auch bei niedrigen Temperaturen wichtig. Genau hier spielt der G2 seine Stärken aus und liefert konstant gute Performance. Auch beim Packmaß ist das System gut durchdacht: Eine 230-g-Gaskartusche und der Brenner lassen sich zusammen im Topf verstauen. Der Deckel sitzt dabei zwar leicht schräg, aber alles passt sicher ineinander – perfekt für ein kompaktes Setup im Rucksack. Fazit: Ein extrem leistungsstarker und zuverlässiger Outdoor-Kocher, besonders für Touren bei kälteren Temperaturen. Schnelle Kochzeiten, gute Packbarkeit und starke Performance machen ihn zu einer klaren Empfehlung. 🔥🏕️

Great pot for the money, not too heavy overall but, dropped and had no dent so durability so far seems to be decent. Found i could fit a 210gram oex gas can inside so for small capacity its perfect. Fit my brs 3000t along with the gas too! Used to cook noodles so far and all seems good. Gold out handle sturdy and works well to hold the pot in place nicely. Would recommend highly for the money overall. No complaints from me

Muy ligero y eficiente. No es titanio pero el aluminio también es muy ligero y ahorra peso, de gas, por ser muy eficiente. Su tamaño es perfecto y su empaquetado (me refiero dentro de la mochila) también. Y buen precio. Muy recomendable para excursionistas que necesitan mucho por poco. P.D: lo de los males para la salud del aluminio está por demostrar.
