KIWI design Face Cover Pad & Facial Interface for Oculus/Meta Quest 2

(NOTE: IF HAVING ISSUES INSTALLING THE FACEPLATE, MAKE SURE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY FOR THE ORIGINAL FACEPLATE HAS BEEN REMOVED!!!) I was really hopeful about this face plate! The whole added comfort and light blocking was exactly what I was looking for. Once I started to attempt to install the plate on my Quest 2 I couldn't quite get it to snap on correctly. The best I could manage was a loose fit with a ton of light leaking. I assumed I just needed to look up a guide, which I did. Much to my dismay it seemed this exact issue was happening to a bunch of users! Realizing I might not get to use this product and now have to deal with the headache of doing a return, I took a break and ate some dinner. Venting about it to my wife, she asked if I'd like her to give it a try. I hoped she might uncover the secret and solve my dilemma. Handing it to her she asked me to give her a quick demo of the issue. I'm walking her through how the stock faceplate works and I manage to pop off a small piece, similar to the extender for glasses that is included with this product. After a small silence, I effortlessly attach the kiwi plate and stared in disbelief at my lack of scrutiny. When I look at the majority of the low reviews with photos of the gaps, you can often see that small spacer in the way. I feel bad knowing some people probably weren't able to attach this otherwise fully functional plate. I hope anyone having issues attaching this plate sees this.

I upgraded my Meta Quest 2 face cushion to this model, because the OEM cushion leaked a lot of light around the nose and it was not very comfortable. While this product was a lot more money than others, it is a high quality product that includes a lot of extras. It comes with a 2nd cushion that mimics the OEM cushion. It also includes a nice cushioned pad to protect the lens and an extender for folks that wear glasses. I particularly like the ventilated feature and the additional flaps to block light leakage around your nose. It isn't perfect though. When I use the unit in a room with a lot of morning sun, I do get a small amount of light leakage coming through the vents at the bottom. Given the overall comfort and no fogging of the lens due to the ventilation, the leakage is insignificant. It fits much more snuggly to the Quest 2 unit as well. The OEM cushion very often leaked light because it did not snap into the headset solidly. That is not the case with this product. Overall I am very satisfied.

Having and using it for a few weeks, gotta say I do enjoy it a lot. Was partly skeptical of the PU leather flaking sooner than later, but it’s surprisingly durable and lasting. The cushioning it quite comfortable for long sessions and doesn’t really slip with sweat, this might have more to do with how I wear my set in general, but glad to not have to fuss with it much. When first trying it, there was still some vague light coming through when worn without the Quest2 being on (but this may have to do more with the gloss smooth finish of the plastic than any direct light). When powered on, they are entirely unnoticeable in use. As I wear glasses, I do like how it stays connected together to the spacer with a satisfying click. Just in case, No you can’t double up with the one that came provided with the Quest 2. The only downside or concern is that the flared Rim of the face ring (that the cushion connects too) is a bit too wide. This causes the side arms (that headstraps connect with) to be forced away. Which might end up causing stress and wear on the Quest 2’s arm and hinge.

Far more comfortable and cool than the face pad that comes with the Meta Quest 2

fits great on the headset, pairs nicely with kiwi design's headstrap as well. very good quality and sturdier than the stock facial interface, super easy to wipe off and keep clean. the vents help prevent the screens from fogging up as well. does put a bit more pressure on my nose but i keep my headset on tight so thats a personal issue. definitely recommend if you're still using the stock one!! :3

I usually don't leave reviews. I bought a few aftermarket face cover pads for the Oculus 2 and this is the first one that truly fit and it's definitely an upgrade from the original. Will buy another one and we'll definitely recommend it

this pad is way better than the standard foam one, it’s less itchy on my face and much easier to clean. Very worth it!

Update: Was actually contacted by KIWI support and had a great experience so for that i have to give it a 5 star review on that alone. If willing to use a pair of scissors for me i solved all the problems i had by cutting the pad piece around the nose. It allows to place it without overlap on the speakers and it is enough to no longer block my nostrils. Original thoughts: I bought it in order to have no fogging while using fitness apps which is actually working quite good. Two issues that made me downgrade the review: 1. The nose area is much smaller then the original interface and the extra padding makes it worse. When wearing it it almost acts as a clip that closes my nostrils. I have to wear the headset a bit higher then made and then the image gets blurry. Decided to keep it but might regret my choice and end up not using it down the line and go back to the original interface or try other approaches. Unless you have a small nose think again. It is intended to help with fitness apps where breathing through your nose is important. It should not make the nose opening smaller and come with different choices of adapters to accommodate different nose sizes. The padding on the nose area is also thicker making the issue worse. 2. The pad when installed is a bit wider then the plastic part and the overhanging parts block the speakers making the sound uneven or muffled. Played a lot with the fit trying to get it to fit as snug as possible and it is just made bigger then the area it is supposed to go in. Again not something you expect for the price of the item. It is not a cheap item so spending a dollar or two on extra pieces would not be that hard.

Bon produit dans l'ensemble. Le simili cuir est fin et ne supportera pas longtemps l'acidité d'éventuelles transpirations, ne durera donc pas, mais pour le prix on ne peut pas tt demander, agréable à porter c'est ce qu'on lui demande, merci à kiwi disign

This is a good quality facial interface which fits my use case (beat-saber) very well. The material is easy to clean, it doesn't let any light in, and is much more comfortable than the standard one. The padding is soft and much higher quality as well, so I don't really have any complaints.

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ein neues Face Cover so viel Unterschied machen kann – aber das KIWI Design Komfort Cover hat meine Quest-2-Erfahrung wirklich spürbar verbessert. Der Tragekomfort ist deutlich höher als beim Original: weicher, angenehmer auf der Haut und vor allem schweißresistenter bei längeren Sessions. Das Material fühlt sich hochwertig an und lässt sich leicht reinigen – einfach mit einem feuchten Tuch abwischen. Auch die Passform ist top: Es sitzt fest und verrutscht nicht, selbst bei intensiveren Bewegungen oder schnellen Spielen. Lichtreflexe werden durch das überarbeitete Design ebenfalls gut reduziert. Fazit: Ein sinnvolles Upgrade für alle, die regelmäßig mit der Quest 2 spielen und mehr Komfort wollen. Ich hätte mir dieses Face Cover schon viel früher holen sollen – absolute Kaufempfehlung und klare 5 Sterne!
