ESR for iPad Pro 13 Inch (M5/M4) Case, Rebound Series, Black

I bought this while trying to solve a very specific problem with my 13-inch iPad Pro. I use the Apple Magic Keyboard, but I don’t want my iPad completely unprotected every time I remove it from the keyboard. I also didn’t want to constantly take the iPad in and out of different protective cases depending on how I was using it. I have the Spigen Enzo case that is designed to remain on the iPad while using the Magic Keyboard. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this ESR Rebound folio will also magnetically attach over the Spigen Enzo, so I can leave the protective case on the iPad. The combination works very well. The folio provides screen protection and a stand, while the Spigen continues protecting the edges and securely holding my Apple Pencil. The small flap on the ESR doesn’t close perfectly around the Spigen’s Pencil holder, but that didn’t bother me because the folio itself stays closed magnetically. I’m ultimately returning this only because I also tried a MOFT folio that works with my Spigen and offers more stand positions, which better fits my particular travel needs. If I hadn’t found that option, I would have happily kept the ESR. This is a really nice, simple solution for someone who wants to switch between the Magic Keyboard and a traditional folio without repeatedly removing their iPad from its protective case.

I’m very happy with this case. It fits my iPad Pro 13-inch perfectly and feels sturdy without adding too much bulk. The materials are high quality, the buttons are easy to use, and the magnetic cover works great. It provides good protection while still looking sleek and professional. Installation was quick and everything lines up perfectly. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone looking for a reliable and well-made iPad case.

Quality has been great so far, however only had it a few months. I love how thin it is and that I can easily snap it off and back on without anything wearing out like plastic clips of other cases. I use this for work and it’s been great. So I can put the keyboard on and off as needed. I like that the flap can either have space for the pen or be flush with the iPad when you don’t have the pen. I also like that it helps to hold the cover open so it’s not lose on the back. The magnets hold well, but I don’t predict much drop protection so only recommend if you handle your devices with care and don’t have a high risk of dropping it. It’s best suited for protecting against scratches in your bag or while shuffling around the office/home.

New Review: Recently bought another ESR iPad case for a 13" M4 iPad Pro. (Amazon only allows me to edit previous reviews, so I kept that original one further below from a few years ago). I’ve found there's a small design flaw when attaching the Apple Pencil. Because of the newer iPads being so thin, the Apple Pencil bulges a bit more than previous iPads. This in turn will (sometimes) cause the ESR cover not to close properly and activate the Lock/Unlock function. Without the Pencil it works fine. If the front cover closes, you can sort of peek a little by slightly lifting the cover and realize the iPad screen never went to sleep with the Pencil attached. The workaround is to Lock the iPad screen before closing the cover ONLY when the Pencil is attached. Is this a dealbreaker? Considering how much Apple charges for theirs, I'd say no. But it is a pesky flaw that can be fixed is the case was about a millimeter shorter, allowing for the Pencil to be seated without interference. That all said, I generally like this case. It looks I and adds some weight which I think is a good thing for stability, though it defeats the purpose of a light iPad. Finally. A note about some of the reviews here. The magnet arrangement on the M4 and M5 are different than the previous generations. So weak magnets or such (may) be due to ESR shipping a previous generation case? I have no idea, but it’s a guess. Also. Some say that the case won’t be stable when folded, are you sure you’re folding it right? I’ve seen people folding the “triangle” in the wrong direction over the years and it of course is unstable. Fold inward! Previous review from a different case years ago: All in all I like this slim case. While it doesn’t offer really any protection like some hard case, it does provide a bit more than apples standard folio at a third of the price. The pencil is covered with it’s own flap pretty much guaranteeing you won’t lose it in transit. That said, my only complaint is that it’s awkward removing the iPad from the case, something I do often to reduce bulk. Opening the flap for the pencil is always an adventure using one’s fingernails. If the flap had a small loose piece of fabric affixed to it, one could use that to open the flap. But that would take away the sleek look of the case. The iPad is somewhat similar in this regard. The magnets are solid which I appreciate but it also makes for an awkward frequent removal. I suspect most will simply keep it in the case most of the time. All in all. A good case and purchased with a very slight discount from a YouTube affiliate link.

Great, versatile case. Magnets are strong. I can hold my iPad by the flap and let it hand and it will not fall off. Protects my screen, holds my Apple Pencil in place, and can prop up my iPad for when I want to use it as a second monitor. Exactly what I was looking for.

Edit 2: ESR sent me a new version about a month after launch, with properly working wake/sleep. Love this case & ESR's customer support. I went ahead and removed any mention of sleep/wake not working, so it wouldn't confuse anyone looking to buy the case going forward. This case has a lot of Pros for the iPad Pro. I purchased both this case and the official Smart Cover from Apple (as well as a Magic Keyboard). I just wanted a case for when I wanted to bring the iPad places without the Magic Keyboard and this seemed like a decent case at a much lower price point. I returned the Apple one and kept this. Pros: - Decently made, I like the feel of the cover. It is relatively the same feeling, grip/texture, structure and as the original Apple folios. I have owned other aftermarket folios and they felt like they had cardboard inside - this one feels like quality. - The magnets are strong and hold the iPad in place. It's not difficult to remove but I am also not worried it will fall out. - I really love the flap for securing the pencil to the side. This is the best solution, since you can drop this in your bag with the pencil attached (and charging) and not worry about it falling off. The flap doesn't get in my way at all, even if I don't have the pencil attached - and I can magnetically fold it back out of the way. - Biggest Pro is the price Cons - The 'lip' of the case sticks out further than the original Apple folio, which cuts into your hand slightly. It was the biggest noticeable difference between the two cases and the first thing my girlfriend pointed out. At almost 1/5th the cost, the case is good in comparison to the Apple one. I do really like the flap for the pencil. Edit #1: ESR reached out to me, as my main complaint with this cover is/was the sleep & wake functioning not working. They shared a little hack using a Post It Note to make the sleep & wake function workThey also said they are working to correct the case in a future iteration, without the need to use the sticky note - in which case, it will be a 5 star product, IMO. Really appreciate ESR support reaching out.

I just upgraded from the 4th Gen iPad Air to the 7th Gen iPad Pro. I’ve had the iPad Air for the better part of 5 years, and have had this same case on it since day one. When I got the new iPad Pro, I didn’t bother shopping around for cases. I’ve been so beyond satisfied with the first one I purchased, that I knew I wanted the exact same one for my new iPad. If you’re looking for a high quality, minimal case, look no further. You will not find a better case for the price. In the years I’ve spent with the first one, I’ve never found myself wishing I had purchased something else. You get the same premium look and feel of the Apple folio case (which mind you, is 4x the price of this one) with the added benefit of the magnetic clasp that helps keep the pencil securely in place. Keep in mind that this is a borderless case, so don’t expect any sort of drop protection; but if like me, you use the iPad for work, school, or casual media viewing at home, this is a great case that will protect your investment from the day to day wear and tear of setting it down, transporting it in your bag etcetera. The magnets are strong, and it’s very steady when used as a stand. I often use sidecar with my iPad to extend the screen of my MacBook, and this case pairs great with that. The material feels great in the hands too. My original case (shown in the pictures) stood the test of time well. There is no part of it that has degraded or come apart in any way. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate even for a moment to recommend this case to anyone looking for a practical and economical way to protect their iPad, while preserving the beauty of it’s design.

*Update in April 2026* - very good customer service rep reached out quickly after I had the issue, and issued not only a replacement but also a refund. Their customer service is still the best and I appreciate them reaching out quickly to help me. The replacement unit had no issue adhering to the back at all, so I must've gotten a faulty initial product. I’ve been using various ESR cases since my very first iPad more than a decade ago, so was excited to make my latest ESR buy for my iPad Pro. The design is smart and light for the rebound series, with two inconveniences. First, the back of the case at the camera unit angles up and leaves a gap between the back of the iPad and the case. There should be a magnet near the camera part for better fit. This was not the case for my previous ESR case. Also the cover extends just a bit over the edge of the case, making the pencil roll off easily when trying to secure the flap. It is a shame for this product because the price point is ideal and the quality is otherwise great and no issue accessing buttons. The product did come with ESR’s easy replacement with no return needed policy for item doesn’t fit or work properly, which is this case. I’ll be reaching out for a replacement and hope it work better.

Love this case no worries with the fit feel great to the touch for all the folk who don’t like sticky shiny covers. I brought another brand before one it’s still packed in cupboard even though the meaiwhere the same could not get it to fit 🤷‍♀️This one still going great easy to wipe over a big thumbs up

I like this cover because it is sleek, light, and attaches magnetically. I love this option because I can enjoy the touch and feel of the original iPad Pro without a cover.

Superhülle für das iPad Pro 11 Zoll! Es gibt keinen Grund, die originale Hülle von Apple zu kaufen. Diese Hülle hat den Vorteil, dass die Bomben festhält und dass der Apple Pencil zusätzlich geschützt und festgehalten wird. Ich habe die originale Hülle von Apple jahrelang benutzt und jedes Mal, wenn ich auf Reisen gegangen bin, habe ich eine andere Hülle an mein iPad gemacht. Der Apple Pencil ist irgendwann abgefallen und leicht verbogen was mich total geärgert hat. Das wird mit dieser Hülle hier nicht passieren. Die Farbe grün ist wunderbar! Nicht knallig, sondern wirklich dezent und einfach schön.
