Solid, Affordable Multi-Gig Upgrade - Works Great After 3 Months!
After using the STEAMEMO 6-Port 2.5G switch for three months, I'm quite satisfied with its performance and stability. My main reason for purchasing it was to expand the single 2.5Gbps port on my rented Xfinity 2Gbps home internet gateway, which is a common need for anyone upgrading to multi-gig internet plans. I connected my Mac Mini and MacBook using USB 2.5G network adapters, and the setup was truly plug-and-play, requiring no configuration at all. So far, it has been perfectly stable, with no reboots needed.Performance-wise, this switch delivers exactly what it promises. I tested the speeds and consistently achieve the full 2.5Gbps throughput. It runs surprisingly cool and is completely silent due to its fanless design, making it suitable even for quiet environments. I also utilized the two 10G SFP+ ports, connecting this switch to another similar unit using a fiber adapter. I was pleased to find that it worked seamlessly plug-and-play even with second-hand Cisco SFP+ modules, which speaks well for its compatibility. While the switch features a "One-Key VLAN" function, I haven't had a need to test it for my home network setup.Addressing a point of confusion I've seen in other comments: this switch is definitely wall-mountable. It has the necessary cutouts on the back, confirming the official product description on this detail. From my perspective as someone working in IT, this feels like a solid, well-performing unmanaged switch. It runs cool, which I believe bodes well for its long-term reliability. The excellent value for money likely comes from STEAMEMO being a lesser-known brand, rather than any compromise on core functionality or performance compared to bigger names.Overall, I highly recommend this STEAMEMO switch, especially for home users looking for an easy and affordable way to upgrade their network beyond 1Gbps. It's particularly great if you already have Cat5e wiring in place, as 2.5Gbps Ethernet often works well over existing Cat5e runs, making this a straightforward upgrade path. It delivers reliable multi-gig speeds, includes useful SFP+ ports for future expansion or linking switches, runs cool and silent, and offers fantastic value.

works well.
Replaced a TP-link and was worried about the brand but so far after a couple of weeks tests continues to show over 2.2G more less steady. Not bad for the price! I recommend it.

Excellent for the cost!
Very nice switch! Bought it end of last year so as to be ready in case fiber internet was ever finally installed on our street. Behold and voila! 10 months later we are fibered up and doing so at full speed!

Great for the price
Plugged it in and immediately worked, getting 279MB/s transfer and that about the maximum you will get over a 2.5GB connection. Still no problems after a few days now. Replaced a TP-Link 2.5 switch that had some issues like not working sometimes after being unplugged or a power outage and would need to be unplugged and plugged back in several times to get it back online. This just turns on and works every time.Only downside is it has no wall mount screw cutouts in the case like many other switches do.

great switch for the money
i have 2 of these switches. nice devices. brainless install. just plugin and go. i have the 2 i own connected via SFP 10GB Copper (6 inch Cat 8 shielded) just power down the device, plug the SFP in connect the link cable (just an ethernet cable) power the devices up connect your router to whatever port you want to give it internet access across the ports. pretty easy. so far, i've seen 2.3-2.4gb/s transfers from machine to machine multiple machines at once. if you want to segregate your LAN from everything else in the house say you live with roommates, it is just a flick of a switch and you are on your own VLAN. can't be any easier than that.

Slow Speeds
After 4 months of use, 2.5Gbps ports would only output 100Mbps.Switch worked well for first 4 months. No returns allowed for this item after 30 days.

Cheap and 2.5G handled fine
I've got Verizon 5G Home Internet with the mmWave, so it comes with a 2.5G port on the modem. I am able to get 2200 megabits down and didn't want to limit that to just my computer, so I got this switch. It works great for what it does.
