Aftercut 20500113 Lawn Patch Fix, 64 Patches, 4.8 kg, Nylon/A

I used this a couple of years ago to fix some patches where the dog likes to pee. The grass produced is quite resilient. It has quite large blades and very deep green. It looks really nice and can withstand wear and tear well, and dog urine to some degree but it’s not very soft. But softer, lighter grass does not wear as well I went through the motions again this year as the really wet winter killed off some other areas of grass in the garden. This stuff does work but it is not quite as easy as the listing suggests. You really must prepare the ground well: Turn the soil over. Rather than just lightly raking the soil as the instructions say I stuck a fork in and really turned it over properly. Break up and chunks into dirt. Take some time to remove any old / dead grass, weeds and roots. You also need to regularly water the patches. 3-4 times a day ideally. At the very minimum twice a day. If the ground dries out the seeds die. Keep ‘em wet! Even in my small garden different areas take different amounts of time to show results: Areas which get a lot of sun will see some shoots after 14 days. A decent covering after 21 days. Thickening up after a month. The more shady areas took 3 weeks to show any shoots. After 4 weeks it is still not as full as the sunny patch. I expect it will be another week at least. So for shady areas you need to allow at least 4 weeks probably more like 5 weeks. And you must keep watering regularly for this entire time! So I would say this product does work, and the grass produced is very hardy but it is not as quick and easy as suggested.

Sadly my dog has destroyed my lawn with her urine and I needed something to fix it. After reading many mixed reviews I opted this for as it seemed to be the best out there for the price. I think the pack itself is very misleading, 64 patches is the claim, however, I managed around 20. I didn't weigh each one as i am not that sad but i dont feel it will do 64 patches as advertised and for this I am giving 4 stars. I think if i was sparing with it then it wouldn't have worked as effectively. Its really easy to use, simply follow the instructions of removing the dead grass with a hand rake, adding the mix and then lightly water. I then watered it almost everyday for around 2 weeks and it worked a treat. I still have more patches as she has created more since then but I am hoping over time I can reverse that as the new seeds come through. I will definitely buy again!

What a lifesaver! After adopting a scorched earth policy on my lawn due to it being full of weeds and clover (resulting in it having bare patches everywhere due to weeding & feeding) this patch fix does the job beautifully. I've tried two application methods - 'sprinkle and leave' and 'sprinkle and cover' - covering with compost or topsoil definitely leads to a better result. Visible results appear after 10-14 days and when they do, the grass grows like wildfire but you must be careful when mowing the first time as the roots are still poorly established - cut as long as possible or avoid the patches altogether until next time. The patches are denser and greener than elsewhere and they appear to suffer less from dry spells. They also withstand pet urine (one of my cats has a blatant disregard for my valiant gardening efforts). At this price and box size it's great value. I won't be using anything else from now on!

Nothing happened. Did everything it said to do on the box. Very disappointed 😞 Bit Amazon delivery bloke was great, because the box was heavy, he put it on my doorstep not at the end of the path thankfully. Lovely man. 👍

Dose exactly what it says it does

i have a dog - as anyone knows their urine burns the grass and you get yellow circles on the grass - sometimes they come back but most times they dont! I have quite a shaded garden - it gets loads of moss in the spring when i go to remove it - i end up with huge bare patches.... this year i actually thought it might be cheaper to get a new lawn put down than repair the bare patches - i have tried other products ( that only did 4 or 5 patches for the same price) - grass seed alone did not work with topsoil... i didnt hold out much hope for this but thought it was worth a shot for the price £12.00 - i am amazed at the results in a week the difference was good after 2 ( when the photo was taken) you can see the grass is lush and green and looks so much better than the rest of the lawn!!! i did nothing special - spread it out to as directed and left it - it has been quite rainy since i applied it - but if not i am sure you would get the same results with a garden sprinkler!!!

We've used Westland products for a good few years and when we couldn't get safe lawn, ordered this instead thinking it would pretty much do the same job. Followed the instructions as per pack but some areas of lawn turned black while other areas seemed to be killed off altogether. Our grass has always been well maintained and treated each year, I didn't expect this result at all and definitely wouldn't buy or use again. The lawn is still recovering slowly, hopefully by next year and the use of our usual products we can return it to what it was previously.

So, firstly, I would say that this product is very good. The image of the lawn is from just using this product. As our dog did kill the grass well all of the lawn, see picture. I have attached a picture of what it looked like before. It did take around 10 boxes, so I do agree with the comment above saying it does not do 64 patches. But the product is good. What is most annoying is that it says it has dog urine resistant seed. Sadly, since only using this product to develop the lawn, I have had 4 patches. I have attached a picture of one of the patches. I want to stress that this patch of damage shown is from this product.
