This thing is amazing! LOVE it!
Really, really happy I got this when I did, since Amazon currently has it listed as unavailable. I hope it comes back and that a lot more people discover it. For the price I can't imagine finding a better MP3 player. It's easily worth well over twice what I paid, and it blows away some of the players that actually are over twice what I paid for this. The Kujira isn't the smallest, lightest MP3 player out there, and there's no bluetooth, so it's probably not the best solution for jogging or the gym unless you figure out an armband solution or don't mind a somewhat heavy, clunky player bouncing around in a pocket. But that's not really what this is trying to be. It's a hi-res music player that's very portable. The sound quality is superb and the construction quality is really good. Solidly built and very durable. Decent battery life. Yes, the user interface leaves a bit to be desired but it's actually as good as or better than many of the MP3 players out there. Screen-wise it ain't an ipod, but it's so much higher quality in every other possible way, at a tiny fraction of what an ipod costs. It's easy to add music, and unlike many MP3 players now it keeps things in the same order as your computer! It's a great thing :) I don't know if it does video at all, but the screen is so small I don't know why you'd want it to. It's a music player that plays pretty much any kind of music file in super high quality (and it gets LOUD too) and that's all it's trying to be. I'd buy it again without hesitation.

Has Many Flaws
The build quality of this device is very good considering its price. The device has some weight to it. I love the fact that this unit supports FLAC and Monkey's Audio files right out of the box. The GUI is very basic, which I like. While not perfect, it is pretty decent. Here's what I don't like: I don't know how to explain it, but something seems off about the audio. It's a bit thin and distant sounding. There is a built-in EQ, which allows you to alter the sound a bit, but I consider that to be a band-aid fix. Another issue I have is with the line-out port. Like the headphones port, its output is controlled by the volume control wheel. A true line-out is not affected by a volume control. The volume level goes from 0 to 100, which is a bit too much range because you have to really turn the volume control wheel many rotations to go from one end to the other to make the desired volume level adjustment. Personally, I think a more ideal range would have been 0-30. That said, the output level on the line-out port is still very weak even when the volume is set at 100. Another annoying issue is with the microSD card slot. You need to use a paperclip or some other tool to insert and remove microSD cards, otherwise the slot's spring mechanism won't engage/disengage. Perhaps if you have long fingernails you could do without the paperclip. At first I thought my unit's card slot was defective, so I ordered a replacement unit. The replacement also had the same problem, which I believe is actually a design flaw. All in all, for the price, it's an OK unit. It's not audiophile quality by any means. However, at this price point, you can't expect audiophile sound quality.

NOT Compatible with Windoww 7 or Windows 10
I searched high and low for as much information as possible Before making this purchase and NOwhere does it indicate it not being compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 10. The manual does indicate usage with XP, Vista and Windows 8. Why is this information not in the description?? A wasted effort and have arranged to return it.

If this was the early 2000's this would be a nice player
Very heavy. I thought the scroll wheel would make navigation easier, but actually makes it tedious and much worse. There are 2 ways to play songs, the standard artist/album/song format and browse folders option. Even though it uses up to 64gb card, the standard format unfortunately has a 4000 song limit. I have more than 4000 songs and have to use browse folders option which again is tedious to navigate with scroll wheel. ALSO, when navigating the folders, they aren't in alphabetical order. The sort order is in date created order which is unacceptable. I sent the player to my brother to let him deal with it

Good player for the money.
Good player. Was going to buy another one, but the price went up. I am impressed with this unit at $20.00. Sound is good, UI is something you can live with for this price. Will by another if the price comes back down.

Fantastic price for what you are getting!!
I am quite shocked by how good this player is, especially for the low price. Sound quality is excellent. Build quality (all metal) is exceptional. Codec support is also impressive (dsd at this price? Wow!) Yes, the menu system (gui) looks very dated. For this price, I didn't think anything of it. Certainly a more attractive interface would be nice, but once I hit play I'm more interested in what I hear and not what I see. I'm so tempted to buy another one as a spare simply because of how inexpensive this is. Price mistake? Probably not - but it should be! Excellent value!

Good audio, great buttons, great price, but UI is not as good as fiios options
I had the fiio equivalent of this and wanted a new mp3 player with better physical controls, but the UI of this mp3 player really sucks compared... If I could port the UI from fiio to this it'd be perfect
