Inserted flat trim removal tool in the bottom of where the mirror was attached to the windshield and slid mirror up to remove. This new camera slid right on and I tightened with included wrench. Wiring was easily ran down pillar to bottom glovebox area where I spliced into cigarette lighter power. Reverse camera was purchased separately and wired into rear liftgate with the wire hidden under and run along the edge of the headliner and then down the pillar to the rear view mirror wiring now under my bottom glovebox area. Installation took an hour or two because I'm slow and wanted to do a good job!The additional lighting is a welcome addition to notoriously dark place and they are white LEDs with a very warm or yellow tint which may be of interest to you. They appear to be SMD LEDs and don't immediately appear to be user replaceable. Review: LED’s won’t turn off and now camera won’t work - So far I can tell this is a good little camera but for my particular application it has caused nothing but headaches. I had purchased this for my Jeep Wrangler and had initially wired it up to my S-Pod. Problem with that is the s-pod has constant power and thus the Six small LED’s were always on, even when vehicle was turned off or in Drive. Have since tried to wire it to my reverse lights and camera has all together stopped working.
