Very happy with this lock. Like most other locks I have tried, the fingerprint reader can be finicky and doesn't aways read correctly. But using the app to unlock and lock my door is a game changer. I never have to turn around to make sure I locked the door! Highly recommend.

*** Updating this review *** I have no issues with the product, my issue is with the app, the product was easy to install, no issues programing it and everything works fine EXCEPT for the AP, the door will not lock or unlock via the app. It will work fine with the keypad, I can lock it and unlocked it, but not with the app. In fact, if I lock the door manually, the app would show it locked (normal right?), but if I try to unlock it with the app, it will show unlocked, for a fraction of a second then go back to locked. if I open it with the keypad, the app will still show it locked... I uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing changes. I just got home from work and found the lock dead, tried new batteries and still it would not come on, this thing went from bad to worst... Still waiting for the seller to replace it which they agreed initially but never sent one. I guess they were waiting for the grace period to expire... DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK!! or from this seller. If I ever get the replacement or my refund I would be willing to change this review but until then it remains as low as possible. *** Update on April 27, After a few weeks of waiting I received the replacement Philips Smart Lock. Apparently the first shipment got lost in transit, I got the new one about a week ago, immediately installed it and have been testing it successfully for 5 days. everything is working as expected, the app works, finger print works, and the touch pad works. I am Very satisfied with the lock, but most of all I am truly satisfied with the company as whole... Thank you Philips for the excellent customer service.

Alright, the Philips Built-in Wi-Fi Smart Lock is pretty slick! Installation was a breeze-my husband just swapped out our old deadbolt in about 10 minutes, no special skills needed. The quality feels strong and heavy for a solid entry way lock. The keyless entry is so convenient; I love just tapping my phone to unlock it or using the fingerprint scanner- it’s very responsive and unlocks/locks within a couple seconds. Wi-Fi setup was smooth through their app, and I can share temporary codes for guests, which is super handy for neighbors and cleaning services. Real-time alerts give me updates on if the door is secure, so no more wondering if I left the door open at 2 AM. Battery life hasn’t been an issue for us this far - it takes 8 AA batteries though, so easy to replace when the time comes. Only gripe? The fingerprint reader can be picky when my fingers are wet - minor, though. Overall, worth the price for a solid smart-lock!

I just received and installed the smart lock. The installation was extremely simple. The exterior side of the smart lock is beautiful and has a strong, premium presence. The setup process is easy, and adding fingerprints was very quick. When looking at the interior side, there is a slight gap in the battery cover — it doesn’t sit completely flush. It’s a tiny clearance, maybe half a millimeter, but it feels a bit loose. As for the manual lock, besides looking somewhat cheap, it also has about 1 cm of play when turning it. In other words, even when the lock is supposed to be engaged, the latch can sit slightly off‑position, as shown on the picture. That said, for a fingerprint‑enabled smart lock that costs just a little over a hundred dollars, I’m satisfied.

I bought 2 of these to replace 2 Ultraloq U-Bolt Pros. I have had them now for 2 months and have been operating flawlessly. They never lose connectivity, always get my fingerprint right, connect and work perfectly with a mixed 5/2.4ghz network and always function properly in Alexa routines. They take more batteries than others but are still at +80%. Very pleased with how they operate.

I've waited a few months before reviewing because I had another brand keyless entry that was cheaper and had so many problems with that brand (and the other brand wasn't exactly cheap). I can say after using this multiple times a day over the last months the fingerprint scanner is absolutely excellent. The only issues I've had scanning was when I had something obscuring my print (like over spray from paint etc). A visiting friend used the touch pad with no problem but honestly we haven't had to use it yet because the print scanner just simply works. Another thing we love that I thought was a gimmick: the magnet that tells you on the app if the door is open. This isn't a sensor for when the door is just unlocked it literally tells you that the door is ajar etc. I thought this would be a glitchy gimmick but even testing it by almost closing the door (but not fully closing it leaving a tiny crack) the sensor knows it's not aligned and says the door is open. We use the wifi to check on the app if the doors are unlocked before bed and you can press a button to lock them. You can have the app push you a message every time the lock in unlocked (whether manually or by fingerprint or code). You can customize the app so you get a many or as few notifications as you want, and thank god the app has yet to send us a "are you interested in this upgrade deal this month?' or any nonsense. I'm old school and I don't want an app for my refrigerator or lawnmower but in this instance I like having the app, the info, and being able to lock a door I forgot from across town. I've bought two so far and I'm going to get 2 more for "seldom used" doors just because it's so handy. If you already have a deadbolt spot then installation is going to be a breeze, since I was replacing a similar sized off brand it took me less than 10 mins per lock since it was just a swap. Battery life so far is good, and the app will show you how much life is left. Cost more than other brands and 1000% worth it after struggling with another brand for almost a year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The overall lock and features make this a great value for a smart lock loaded with features. The installation was fairly simple for people who are handy. However, the hardware and screws are all in random bags so it leaves you guessing which screws/bolts are used for each step of the installation process. They should consider placing the appropriate hardware together in the same bags so you don't need to guess. I also had to fight with the plastic locking clips to get the hardware to lock in place correctly and I was a little concerned that I might break something because the mechanism is plastic and locking to a metal bracket, but I was able to finesse it into place without breaking anything. The app to control the lock seems to work well and this smart lock has a lot of nice features. It would be ideal if you could re-key the lock to work with existing keys, but instead they provide two keys. Hopefully I'll never need those anyway. The fingerprint reader is easy to program for multiple users and it's also easy to set up PIN codes for multiple people. The sensor for automatically locking the door when it closes is also easy to install and calibrate, but I don't love the fact that it sticks off of the door frame like an add-on, rather than looking professional. They also offer an alternate method of placing into the inside of the door frame, but the directions weren't very clear so I went with the basic method. Lastly, the integration with Google Home was tricky, but after setting up the included wi-fi bridge and patiently researching online for solutions, I was able to get it working. The hardest part is that Google Home will want a completely different PIN code to interact with the door lock. That PIN has to be set up in the Philips app in the area where it shows the connection to your Google Home network. I've set up many smart home devices and this was probably the least intuitive device to get it working properly. Overall, this smart lock is a very good price for the features, so I would buy it again and recommend it. I'm only knocking off one star because the installation and setup could have been much easier for people who aren't technically or mechanically inclined.

Requires some DIY know-how. You’ll likely have to tinker a bit, drill some pilot holes, chisel out a channel for the latch bolt, extend the latch as needed. A dremel, drill and driver will be helpful. Have a good set of bits on hand. This is an hour or two install. Programming of the device with passcodes, fingerprints and linking the door sensor is a breeze. The app works well and I like the ability to use a physical key if needed. Philips uses a high-security lock cylinder that’s designed to resist sophisticated picking techniques and require a long unlocking time—over 270 minutes according to tests. It’s a quality lock and worth the price - just a shame it’s not integrated with Apple HomeKit.

This is one of my all-time favourite purchases! I don’t know how we lived without it! The fingerprint, for us, is key because we don’t want our kids knowing a code and telling everyone, so we just programmed their fingerprints and they don’t have the code! I like that you can program a guest code and easily set when a code will be active or not! So much functionality! We’ve had it for almost a year now and we haven’t had to change the batteries once!

Worked great for the first 2 months. But now that we are a week out of the return window it’s dead as a doorknob. Will not work.

Great upgrade to my front door - about of convenience and flexibility plus fallback to the key option is incredible. From finger print to wifi access, everything works well.

Great smart lock, looks good and like how many options it has to unlock the door. Installation was super easy as well. My only gripe with this is to do with the app, it logs you out after a few weeks and then you need to log back in to see any notifications.
