ATIVAFIT Adjustable Dumbbell Set of 2, 5–88LB Quick Dial Free Weights with Double Safety Lock, Anti-Slip Steel Handle & Storage Box, Space Saving Home Gym Equipment for Full Body Strength Training, Suitable for Home Fitness Users

I've been using these for over a year now and they have served me very well. You just have to understand their limitations- the main one being that you don't want to drop them on the floor. The other is that the max weight is 27.5 lbs. So yes, if you're very strong and you like going to failure, you might be a little disappointed. However, if you're an average person like me and just want to get in a decent home workout, these could be perfect for you. The adjustment mechanism is easy to use and the weight increments make a lot of sense. They start out with 2.5-lb increases with the lower weights and jump up to 5-lb increases at the higher end. You can do anything you would do with normal dumbbells- bench presses, shoulder presses, curls, triceps extensions, rows, flys, lunges, etc. The plates do move around a little bit, which can be scary at first. However, I've never had one fall out on me and over time you will develop trust in the equipment. I do feel like they aren't perfectly evenly weighted, meaning that you'll want the two red bar things aligned when you're doing your exercises. Maybe that's all in my head. In my mind those things are a small price to pay for the space and money you save with these. Here's my setup- I have a squat rack and associated bar/plates for heavy, going-to-failure type of workouts and then I have these in the corner for high-rep stuff or for when I'm not going to failure and don't feel like swapping out plates all the time. Yes, I know that's a weird, lazy thing to avoid when I'm trying to work out, but that's how the human mind works sometimes. These really make my home gym a lot more versatile and they take up almost no space. The price is very low to compare to other expensive one out there , but you just have to think about how much it would cost to buy all the dumbbells you would want. Then you might buy something like a 12.5-lb dumbbell not knowing if you'll ever actually use that one or not. Also, think about how much a monthly gym membership costs, plus the associated transportation. Not to mention the time wasted going back and forth to the gym. If you get these plus a good quality bench (don't go cheap on the bench), you're going to be able to stay in shape if you're motivated to do so.

Was weary for first few weeks on doing overhead exercises, never had any catastrophic failure. A few times I didn't ensure the pin was in the locked position and had a failure while picking up off the ground, I think there must be some thought behind the fail safes.

Great product. Just wish the weights would detach easier when picking up out of stand

These are my fourth adjustable dumbbells I have owned, and these are by far the best. They are comfortable to use because the handle is well cushioned and wide enough for a man's hands. My wife likes the feel too, so these are perfect for everyone. The weight adjustment is simple, effective and fast. So my wife and I can share these as changing the weights is so trivial. I have no complaints but note that with every lift of the dumbbell, you hear a clicking sound as the weight shifts. This is true for all the adjustable dumbbells I have used and it no longer bothers me. But it may bother some, and if so, you should not buy any of these adjustable dumbbells except for the ones you remove the end cap and add or remove the weights. Those do not make noise at all. But you are giving up the convenience and speed of changing the weights quickly. This is the best buy I have made on Amazon in two years. I could not be happier.

I am an unfit guy. If I had 5 different weight sizes going on in a room, people would be asking “Just why? You’re not fit. What do you do with these? Put them on your George Forman grill lid because you’re too weak to press down on a panini for 3 minutes?” I can hide these bad boys in half the space in my closet and let them collect dust without that pesky monthly gym membership to ignore. When I pick them up they seem very sturdy and easy to move the weight a adjustment peg. It is a spring mechanism you pull out (no screwing and unscrewing needed) Not sure if the adjusters were sticky at first or if I got used to the mechanism, but it’s really quite effortless. They make a subtle ‘clink’ noise if you rotate them like when doing a curl. They feel sturdy and secure in that I didn’t feel like the plates could fall off. If you are a fit individual I’d imagine you could pick these up like 1,000,000 and be swole and stuff.

I've really enjoyed using the two dumbells I ordered about 9 months ago. They've held up well and only have some minor chipping in the finish of the weight plates from frequent use. I contacted the company for help getting two replacement bases since the originals that shipped with the weights had both broken over several months of use which was making it challenging to line up all the plates and quickly change the selection. They got back to me within a few hours and sent out two replacement bases, free of charge. I got the replacements in just 2 days and am so happy it was covered by the warranty. Great product and great company-- would definitely buy from them again in the future.

At age 89 I am simply interested in maintaining my fitness at home while avoiding a return to my fitness center. This single unit is perfect when coupled with my new fitness bench. Utilizing 5 KG setting works for my 143 pound body curls; the 10 KG setting works 90% of the remaining weight exercises I complete on my 5 day workout regimen. I am not a body builder. I simply want to be able to continue to move about without pain or shortness of breath. Concerning the quality of the product I find it to be quite easy to adjust the selected weight. The product arrived double boxed! The inside box contained protective form fitted foam. I was pleasantly surprised that the delivery was so swift! Concerning the need to purchase a second barbell I, personally, find this unnecessary for my routines. However, if I was obsessed to be able to perform all my exercises alternating arms then it would be necessary to purchase a second unit.

This weight set is not so good for the US market since the weight is marked in kilos. There is a conversion table, but that is not so practical
