Does it work for making multiple boards attached together flat

That’s what it is made for. The answer is yes

I am only assuming you can use this on boards wider than a 2x4 you would have to make multiple passes correct?

Yeah you can plane wider boards. I have not gotten good results though - either due to my lack of experience or due to the limits of the product itself, not sure. I suggest practicing on some scrap first.

will it work on resin boards?

Yes, for a little while. Resin boards will dull the blades pretty quickly.
