The music of Los Angeles based band Dot Hacker is architectural, built on a foundation of bold, manipulated tones and supported by lush eclectic textures and angular rhythm. The band's enigmatic sound comes from the collaboration of friends and founding members, Josh Klinghoffer, Clint Walsh, Eric Gardner and Jonathan Hischke. Before forming Dot Hacker in 2008, the four were already established musicians--Klinghoffer, the band's lead vocalist, also currently plays guitar in The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Review: Just awesome - Love this Album. The CD came in good condition and on time. Unfortunately no lyrics or photos :( You will probably find a good review of the music on the internet elsewhere, but it all sounds pretty good :D Review: Cool - Someone is actually still making really good music. Dot Hacker. 100%. no duff tracks here. This is a brilliant album from start to finish

Absolutely Astonishing
I have been listening to this record for over two years now and finally feel the need to write about it. I'll sum it up in one sentence: One of the greatest records ever. Although I could say this about every one of the Dots records... This is a good one to start off on. I tried to introduce a friend to DH on How's Your Process? but it didn't capture him. Then I played him this record. Now he loves them as much as I do and enjoys the later releases. So if you want to get into DH or just want a really great record BUY THIS ALBUM!!! Great value for money - if you think it's a lot to pay just know that this is an investment into years of listening. You'll be picking up on stuff you didn't hear the first time round and noticing things like the wordplay and appreciate just how much the bass on this album rocks!! These guys are great. I'll stop raving about it now, just do yourself a favour and get a copy as soon as possible. It's difficult to choose a favourite as all the songs are amazing but if I could only have one song off this record in my life it would be Quotes. Beautiful stuff, guys.

Doctored Pepper
Noddy Holder once famously noted that integrity and coolness are only to be found at the end of a dark alley that you had no idea you'd begun walking down. Of course, most people start off in the music biz with their backs to the wall, trying to avoid (as the O'jays knew about all too well) those backstabbers. Which brings us to Josh Klinghoffer. Through his abject fear of never making it as a stadium rocker in his own right, Josh did what any self-regarding, groupie-loving drummer would have found it hard not to do; he joined the world's worst band. Now, having got his name in lights, and in the rock n' roll hall of fame, albeit as Flea's errand boy, he's finally got around to releasing this debut album by his own band. And unsurprisingly, it sounds like an absolute rejection of all things red, hot and indeed peppery. Something else that doesn't come as a surprise is that it is rather good. It's at various times raucously delicious, dreamy, experimental, grand-sounding, loose, chockablock of sounds, and Josh's vocals are a revelation. It's immediate, and it's the future and the past of alternative gauche rolled into one. Some of it sounds like the soundtrack to Blake's Seven, though. Weird.

Brilliant debut album by a extremely creative band. You can hear some radio head influences in there, and is full of fantastic lyrics. The guitar play is well done, as is the use of electric style drums and sound bites. Highly recommended this album for experimental indie rock.

Mal wirkliche Abwechslung und trotzdem irgendwie ein bekannter sound, ähnelt teilweise an john frusciante was mich sehr gefreut hat, hat aber auch was eigenes!
