Great little pump, reasonably portable, easy to run, well built
Caveat: I am not a professional firefighter: I bought this pump on the enthusiastic recommendation of a professional firefighter friend, who had bought one a year ago.I found the pump easy to set up and operate. I am just 5'6" and, at 72yrs old, no longer able to carry much over 50lbs, so this pump, which comes in at exactly 50lbs, was just right. I equipped it with a pair of 1.5" ball valves (female to female), bought an 18ft 1.5" suction hose with heavy metal filter to use my pool's water, a 100ft 1.5" firefighting hose with nozzle, and got camlocks for both hoses. The Honda engine started immediately with minimal effort on the manual pull starter and is easy to control. The tank could be a bit larger (it'll run the pump for a bit over an hour), but I figure that, if I use it for fire sprinklers I can easily refill it, and if I am wielding the fire hose, I'm likely to flag long before the engine ;-)So I'm very pleased overall, working on getting fire sprinklers situated so I can start by wetting the area before switching to the fire hose to put out any suspicious spots.Btw, I live in Hawaii, but the pump arrived in two days via Fedex, carefully packed, with a detailed user manual for the Honda engine and for starting the pump.Don't skip on accessories -- valves, camlocks, thread adapters (the pump has NPT threading in North America, but firefighting lines use a different standard), hoses, etc. This particular model has a 4-way output manifold, but really what you want is the main 1.5" connection (horizontal, above and aligned with the 1.5" intake connection). The upward-pointing 1.5" connection is just to pour water into the pump for priming it and the two 1" connections, one on each side, are each too small to run 4-5 fire sprinklers. And with valves and camlocks, it's a breeze to switch among 1.5" output hoses when needed.Naturally, I hope never to use it, but will add to my review if it does come to it.

Great Quality
We have had the Davey fire pump for 4 years now. It is mounted on a fire skid unit and is used in the back of 4x4 pickup or trailer mounted. This pump is combined with a 150-gallon water tank and hose reel holding 150' of booster line. This unit is used for spot fire suppression. The Davey pump has worked flawlessly.
