Amazing pool timer! Ever since i have started using this pool timer my life is so much easier, battery life no problem. Once connected it stays there, once programmed it stays programmed. No more dealing with manually setting the timer. Its digital and worth it once set up!! Love it!

Bought the Suraielec timer to replace a 20 year old Intermatic. The clock mechanism in the old Intermatic had finally broken down and wasn't turning the pump on/off. I found a good video on wiring the Suraielec on YouTube and between that and the printed instructions, I didn't have any trouble getting the connections right the first time. I was also pleased to see that the timer is close enough to the old Intermatic in size that I didn't have to relocate any of the wiring conduits leading to or from the timer (bonus !!). Programming was no problem. Just follow the instructions. The first thing I noticed is NO NOISE !! The old Intermatic was mounted on the side of the house and I had never realized how it created a buzzing noise in both rooms on that side of the house. The new Suraielect is totally silent, accurate to the minute week after week, and hasn't missed an on/off event since I installed it. Could not be happier with the results. Quiet, accurate, dependable, and a great value. What more can you ask?

I purchased this timer to replace my analog pool pump timer (you know the brand). I had doubts about it being fairly lightweight but it is housed in a sturdy, well-made metal rain-tite enclosure and installed easily. The electrical connectors are robust enough for #8 wire and the knock-outs match standard spacing, although they were not punch pressed very well so I had to use a hole saw on one knockout. A minor inconvenience given the reasonable price and solid quality. It is not the same size as the older, traditional timer unit but worked for me. My only complaint is that the latch fit poorly (too tight, impossible to unlatch by hand) and had to be slightly filed to make opening the case practical. Some report the instructions aren't clear but I didn't find that to be the case. I don'ty know how long it will last but if I get two years out of it and need to replace it, I'll buy this same brand again.

This timer lasted about 6 weeks. Display window is not visible. We haven't lost power at all and it's 4 hours off so if we even did lose power then the battery back up does not work. We can't adjust due to the display no longer visible. The manual button does not work neither. We missed our return window so money down the drain.

In Arizona we are offered "Time of Use" rates, which provide a huge cost savings if you are willing to reduce usage during peak weekday times. In wintertime, when solar is plentiful, there is also a big discount during peak daylight. The problem is that a default electric water heater is going to cycle not matter what, and water heaters draw heavy loads. Avoiding running the water heater means delaying things like washing dishes or clothes, and not giving children an evening bath. You should always ensure the unit can handle the load on your heater, and 30 amps at 240 volts is not something any fool should attempt. Nevertheless, with a whip available from a hardware store, a contactor or skilled person can install this timer in minutes. Uninstalling it would be even easier. The clock is probably the most accurate non-web integrated clock in my home. Overriding the system on a high load day is a simple one-button push, something I have actually only needed to do once in two years, as the residual heat in a 40 gallon tank is more than enough for a shower or a load of dishes. The result is that I can use hot water at any time, and the timer turns on the recovery only during the cheaper off-peak times. Based on my cost savings by being able to use the Time Of Use plan this device paid for itself in months, even before factoring the added convenience of being able to use hot water without worrying about peak time regeneration.

I purchased the timer with metal case (it also comes in plastic case) it looks and feels very sturdy and should last. So far 6 months and keeps on "ticking", I appreciate the battery backup, it maintains the correct time after a power failure. I didn't find much information on programming this particular model, I have attached photos of the included guide that will hopefully help others see what is possible. I find programming simple. In my case I have it on in the morning with a short break and back on for a few hours. There is a model that has a small display which is hard to see, especially in daylight. This model has a large display, much more visible.

Two months in our new house and the pool timer the previous owner installed died. I contacted Suraielec about how to fix it. Response was within 12 hours. They were willing to replace it if I could provide the Amazon order number but of course I could not since I did not buy it directly, so they offered a 20% discount on a new unit. I took a photo and sent it and they made good on the 20%. I was able to wire the new timer identically to the old one (but be aware you might need a licensed electrician) and was back up and running in a matter of three days (thanks to Amazon's fast delivery). The timer itself is a basic unit with versatile programming but I have to say Rachel at Suraielec was very helpful and stayed in communication throughout the process. Works as advertise easy to install

for daylight saving time, you can only go forward, not back, which is required for the upcoming " fall back " hour. i.e. you can only go forward, like for spring. so you must set the time after the dst time and then going forward in spring is easy.
