REOLINK E1 Outdoor SE PoE 4K Outdoor Camera for Home Security with PT

This is my 10th reolink camera and hands down the best one to date. First and most importantly for me is this works seamless with Blue Iris, ONVIF worked perfectly and blue iris had no issues finding both the wide angle view and the zoomed view. I also have the reolink NVR home hub and it worked well with that but I only use the hub to get ONVIF for the solar reolink cameras so this one is directly connected to my blue iris server Second the image quality and the width of the space in terms of what it can see is the best replace of my reolink cameras. It's extremely sharp, very wide and the addition of the zoom lens is fantastic. Third the tracking is very good now im going to be honest most of my PTZ reolink cameras support tracking but it's been pretty bad on those but the tracking on this is outstanding. It tracked extremely well and I do like how you can toggle what it should track. Forth the night performance on this is the best of the reolinks I have. As you can see in my photos the LED spot light on this is crazy bright and has no issues lighting up my entire backyard. If a weight white light isn't you jam the IR on this is also exceptional and it illuminated my entire backyard as well. Fifth In terms of connectivity I had no issues connecting this to my Omada POE switch and it initialized easily. Sixth the setup process on this is easy, most of my other reolink cameras require you to scan a QR code to add them but this does not. I launched the reolink app while connected to my wifi and it was just there. Clicked on initiate and it did the rest, super simple. It also did a firmware update on the spot and it took less than 4 minutes. Seventh you can set the angle of the wide angle up or down to maximize the view you want. I love how it's not fixed in place Eighth the housing itself has a click function so you can adjust the camera and the wide angle easily so again for maximizing the view of the wide angle this is a major win. At the time of this purchase it had a $60 off coupon and considering I paid less for this camera than some of my other Reolink camera the value for money here is very good. Bottom line this is the best reolink camera I have installed and makes me want to replace some of my older ones with this one.

Excellent camera with outstanding image quality Installation was quick and straightforward, and the overall build quality feels solid and well-designed. The picture and video quality are excellent, with sharp details, vibrant colors, and reliable performance both day and night. One of the biggest advantages is the strong support for third-party applications and integrations, making it easy to use with a variety of home automation, security, and monitoring platforms. Setup was seamless, and the camera has been reliable from day one. Overall, this is one of the best cameras I've used. It offers great image quality, dependable performance, and excellent compatibility with other systems. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile camera for home or business use.

E1 Outdoor SE PoE. Using it indoor through a window pane currently, PoE via a TP-Link injector I bought from amazon in the same shipment. EDIT (3-2-2026) : I was still getting terrible lag where this camera was 45 seconds behind my other cameras until I messed with it more. Right now it's running good with these settings in the reolink app: Resolution = 3840x2160, FPS = 20 , Max Bitrate = 4096, Iframe interval 1x, encoding format H.264. The blue iris app is still using the camera as Generic/ONVIF, Max Rate: 21.00 fps, receive buffer is currently 3.0 MB. I may increase the buffer if I run into issues again. It's running fine now, without the 45 seconds of lag I was experiencing. I'm not running their muddy low resolution sub stream for the preview windows at all, it's full rez. It just seems finicky to configure it in Blue Iris. I have two other Reolink poe cameras plus their poe doorbell cam, and none of them had such lag and need for extra tweaking. Incidentally, I didn't have any luck when I tried to connect it via RTMP mode instead, when I was trying anything I could think of to avoid the bad lag. Keeping the review at 4/5 stars. It's a decent camera with a good feed - but their other cameras I own were not as problematic (in blue iris). =========== Original Review / early experience : I thought it or the injector wasn't working at first but it turned out that my repurposed Ethernet cable from an older pc setup was at fault. It would allow the camera to initialize (camera motor turns the camera a little with some noise) - but it wouldn't show up in the ReoLink app until I swapped the cable to a new one. If, like me, you want to use this with Blue Iris or other onvif setup , the camera must be connected+powered+showing as having an ip address (on your router) and then you have to go into the Reolink app --> Network --> Advanced--> Server Settings. In that menu you have to enable the RTSP and ONVIF checkboxes (and hit Save at the bottom). Then the camera will be detected by blue iris. It helps if you know the ip the router gave it already, which you can figure out in your router clients page or in the Reolink app-->Network-->"Network Information" area. You can also go into the Reolink app-->Network-->"Network Information"--> "Network settings" and set the camera to a static ip address if DHCP reservation on your router is struggling to get the camera to the ip you want, if you want to keep it's ip the same. (Maybe change it back to dhcp later with the router reserving it once it sticks). The PTZ seems ok. There is no zoom, but for what I'm using it for, to see packages low on the ground from a difference angle that my reolink 2560x1600 video doorbell can't see, it works fine. ===== Other than no zoom, after messing around with some settings - my initial issue seems to be fixed, so I'm giving it 4/5 stars for now. The major complaint I had originally was that unless I kept the preview window in blue iris set to this reolink camera's "Low/Fluent" stream, the camera feed in the preview window would lag a minute behind my other cameras, and the PTZ control would also be very far behind, long after I click the direction arrow. This seemed like it wouldn't be a problem once I realized that neither the video nor the PTZ control would lag at all when the preview window was set to "Low/Fluent", where the main 4k stream would only show when I maximized the preview window, and recordings would be 4k. However the problem then was that the "Low/Fluent" setting has a very poor resolution - even for a preview window that is 1/4 or 1/6th of a screen size on a monitor. It looks muddy. It's worse than 1080p, which is what I was trying to avoid when installing 4k poe cameras. The "Low/Fluent" stream is listed in the reolink app as being only 640x360, and you can't increase this at all. If I switched the sub stream off, using 4k, it would lag at least a minute behind, so I was stuck with a muddy preview window feed. I have other 4k reolink poe cameras where this doesn't happen. They don't lag even if I turn the sub stream off entirely. HOWEVER , I think I figured out my camera settings in blue iris now. 😆 The original writeup was my frustration with the operation before I compared my other reolink camera settings I already had in blur iris. The search / Generic ONVIF setting was for this particular camera had auto filled some things differently than my other cameras, that were causing an issue. Mainly, the receive buffer in Blue Iris in this camera's video settings was set to "6.0" , and all of my other (mostly 4k, and one 1600p) reolink cameras are set to "3.0". Once I switched this camera to that, I was able to turn off the sub stream in the drop down menu in blue iris (and I set the main stream to "/"). Specifically, in BIue Iris: right click the camera preview window, click the camera settings "cog wheel" at the top of the menu, then click the "Video" tab and click on the "Configure" button that is next to the Network IP. In the panel that pops up: Under "Stream profiles" in the middle section, I set the Main to "(default)" and the right side entry of that to "/". Under that same "Stream profiles" section, I set the "Sub" to "none" via the drop-down. The "Advanced" section near the bottom of that whole panel has a place to input the "Receive buffer (MB)". It had been set to 6 when I added the camera. I now have it at 3.0 and it seems to have fixed the issue. I now have full clarity in my preview window and no stream or ptz lag, so I updated my review to 4/5 stars (I knocked one for the lack of zoom, would give it 4.5 if I could). I had removed the substream before, but I hadn't noticed that the buffer as set to 6.0, so when I tried that previously it would still have the issue. Seems like the buffer setting was it. I would never use that 640x360 preview window stream personally though, regardless, and so I would have returned the camera if I was stuck at that. Hope this helps someone. =====

Good price, great product, easy setup and installation. Remember though, this camera requires an injector that's not included. PoE switches will handle this cam easily. Picture is good at low resolution and awesome on high. SO MANY considerations when choosing a security system, recorders, cameras, formats, connectivity, etc... It's hard to make a really informed decision without weighing your budget, security risk/comfort, expectations, and [yes] your ability to install and maintain all of it. Reolink does a great job of making solid cameras and recorders affordable to the masses. I went with their Home Hub ($99), a couple of these cameras, as well as a couple of PTZ solar cams around my property. All connected by PoE switches and/or PoE remote TP-Link Omada outdoor antennas. I put the whole system together when they ran sales, and it all rides on cat6 and cat7 ethernet. I'd prefer no wifi, simply to thwart jamming and latency, but I'm happy. And Reolink has no subscription costs if you use your own memory cards.

I've dealt with so much finicky technology in my life that it's a GREAT relief that something just works out of the box. I mounted the bracket on a wall, attached the camera, plugged in my ethernet cable, and it sprung to life. The mobile app picked it up immediately, the desktop clients (windows and mac OS) both picked up the camera immediately and all I had to do was enter the admin password for the camera. Thank goodness my wife and I can share accounts for the mobile app - greatly simplifies things. Again, I cannot stress enough how this just WORKS out of the box. The PTZ works, snapping still photos, getting videos out of it, setting up recording schedules, WHAT to record, what to detect... incredible stuff! The only thing I could think of that I wish they could add is I wish you could be even more granular on the recording schedule - during certain times I don't want to record animals, but I DO want to record cars and people. Small thing that I doubt many people would even consider wanting, but sure enough it came up for my wife and I. Wonderful product, will recommend to others.

Reolink has a known bug (check Reddit) with this camera. The PTZ camera has an issue where it points down and does not return to its monitor point. It spends 1/2-2/3 of its time pointed at the ground and nothing changes that. All of this is on top of bad software. The app is mostly fine. I mean the camera software itself. The tracking on it is better than previous cameras… when it works. (Again, check Reddit for full reviews.) The detection range for PTZ tracking is very low, compared to actual detection range (blue boxes). The camera can identify movement but, if it cannot identify whether it’s a person/animal/vehicle, then the PTZ camera will not track it. Also, regarding tracking, it is far too slow. I have a GSD that cannot be tracked at a walking pace. She has to move like molasses for it to follow her. The same goes for people. There is a very useful, unbiased review, of this camera on the Reolink subreddit. It details most of what I said here (it is not my review). The PTZ facing the ground is detailed by another person on there. I’ve used Reolink cameras for 10 years. They always come close but always miss the mark. They are also incredibly slow to fix issues, if they can fix them at all (could be a hardware issue). I have started a return and will give a new camera one more shot. If it does the same things, I will get a refund and go with a trackmix. Their tracking is much worse but at least it tries. Also, for the uninitiated, use V30 microSD cards for cameras like this. 3 lenses and high bandwidth need a little more speed. The SD cards, and this camera even, are expensive because of AI. Don’t use AI folks. It’s taking millions of jobs and making everything more expensive. At $210 (2026 prime days) these issues are barely tolerable. At $280 (current price), there is no way I would buy this camera. The camera quality itself is amazing. Reolink has never had an issue here. It’s always been the half-baked software. They need more software developers because the hardware is solid. 10 years of lacking software tells me this is never going to change. Take care!

Reason I bought this camera is I wanted less cameras to cover more. The top camera has 180 degrees view that's stationary. Then you have to ptz camera that tracks whatever moves. You can set it not to do that but it is more effective tracking what the 180 camera picks up. Connected quickly to my reolink nvr being a poe camera. The lights on the camera are bright so illuminate yard at night. Being 4k can see many things in detail. I recommend this camera yes it is expensive but it is quality. You can wait for a sale to get a great deal

I love Reolink products. I currently have 11 cameras including two of the OMVI 3i PoE. While most of my outdoor cameras offer exceptional full color night vision- partly in fact because I have a lot of landscape lights and my front and backyards are lit up like a Christmas tree- one of the OMVI cams only displays b&w ( full color only when the motion lights activate) and the other displays some ghastly gawd awful colors. My RLC-811A and RLC-823A displayed full color night vision that was very clear. I replaced them with the OMVI cams and the day time vision on the OMVI's is spectacular and are way better than the RLC units. Tracking is 100% better than the 823A as fast as smoothness and clarity go. No motorized noise present in the OMVI's which was an annoyance on the 823A. The field of vision is also way better than all my other Reolinks. I have them set up to the Reolink Home Hub Pro on 8GB of storage capacity and operation is glitch and error free. I really like these OMVI's, I wish a further update would improve the night vision issues. A lot has to do with the split lens which hopefully they can find a work around with. The other is the night vision sensitivity which could also use an update. The pictures show some of the issues I posted. The first 4 are the OMVI units, day and night pics. The last one is a night pic of the RLC-811A with no camera spotlights on.

Works great even the Ptz camera is very smooth

The REOLINK E1 Outdoor SE PoE has been an outstanding addition to my home security setup. The 4K video quality is exceptionally clear, providing crisp detail across the entire yard in all lighting conditions. Got this at launch and everything worked as described. The fact that you can watch the whole 180degrees and also follow and zoom in to something in the view is awesome. The night vision and color night vision is also excellent. Just make sure you have enough POE power for all the sensors and lights. Deduct a star because of the fact the Prime Day deal is cheaper than the launch price which was just a month after.

Image looks good in 4k, night vision is good too both IR and color when the sensor light turns on. I like the option of having SD card even if i power it via POE, this way i don't have to pay anyone or pay extra $300 for nvr recorder. The menu is intuitive and offers many options. The only feature i feel that i pay and will not use its the spinning around. Yes it is nice to have, but in Edmonton winter at -40, my brother got his to turn and broke so no more spinning for him - I decided i will not use that feature either.
