Multi purpose oven
I like the GE Convection Microwave Oven, 1050W. I have used the microwave, the air fryer, the convection oven and all work great. My old microwave was higher wattage, but I have not had to add much extra time to heat things up. The beeping is a bit annoying, but I'm getting used to it. It tells you when it's HOT, which is a good safety feature. A lot of smudges on the stainless steel parts, but that's expected. It fits in the standard microwave spot in my cabinets above my kitchen counter.

Great combo; worth the extra $
It really is so different than a microwave. The ability to heat food up in the air fry mode is so much better than turning my gas oven. And then be able to microwave. It took a little to get used to the controls but now it's fine. A little odd that the main microwave button "Cook time" is in a random spot rather than at the top or highlight it somehow. Wish companies used white type on black rather than the light grey (I ain't getting any younger!). It is also a bit underpowered but not a big deal. The most annoying this this thing beeps soooo loud! So loud. I contacted GE to see if the volume could be turned down and they said no. It's loud like something extremely dangerous is happening with the oven. Lol. Overall much better than a regular microwave.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
As others have commented, it is very hit and miss as to whether you get a properly working product, or not. I purchased this last November, it is now February; 2 weeks past the Amazon return date.. My mistake for not checking it out sooner but it is still under the one year manufacturers warranty. During December I eagerly tried out the Air Fryer function; really bad but I assumed that was to be expected and assumed this is how hybrid Air Fryers 'just are'. Last night, with the weather warming up in Florida, we decided to cook one chicken breast for a salad and thought we would use this device instead of turning on the main oven. Set the oven to 375f as we would in the main oven, let it heat up and put the chicken in. ONE HOUR LATER, we pulled it out and it was nowhere near cooked. It takes 20 minutes in our main oven! Later, I put my barbeque probe in and set the oven to 375f. It announced it was up to temperature at 176f, I watched for a while and it maintain that exact temperature. I contacted GE Support who promptly replied that I had to call their Tier 2 support who then told me they don't repair this device, only give a certificate for part of the purchase amount paid. And this happens after I receive an email initiating the process, then send them photographs and proofs of purchase, then wait for postal mail for a certificate, then go purchase another unit (no thanks!), then postal mail back the certificate with proof of the new purchase, then wait for a check in the mail; less sales tax paid for the original unit. I asked the Agent if she was joking, and no, of course not. I expressed my disgust and she did not care one bit. I have been a proponent of GE products for years. Based on the truly dreadful experience of receiving a faulty product out of the box, the hoops I have to jump through to get a replacement - NOT A REFUND, just a certificate to buy the same unreliable thing again! I will now tell anyone that will listed to avoid this brand like the plague. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! There are plenty of other similar products from other brands that are priced about the same and do not have these issues. It would not be possible for any other companies method of resolution of this issue to be worse. For those of you in the same boat, I recommend you review the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act . The item is over $25, GE have refused to refund the full amount amount paid, they have refused to repair the item in a timely manner, and only offer a 'certificate' requiring you to jump through too many hoops, that others mention they never receive anyway!. If enough of us take action, perhaps this companies shabby practices will be curtailed when they get hit with a ton of legal fees.

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, of GE 4-n-1 Microwave
Well I thought I was getting the Panasonic 4-n-1 and somehow ended up with GE’s. The WORST thing is no real user manuel. You can’t look up when to use the special rack & pan or where. You can’t look up “broil”, or “convection” and get complete constructions. They just have a highly general sheet and the rest is purely up to you to find your way & guess. I hopped on YouTube to look for a full-on film! None by either GE nor customers that did a complete explanation. GE’s is just a commercial & most people got on to rave about the Hot-Air Fry or Microwave. Some complained that the turn table breaks easily and so does the open catch. I’d say, release the Childproof lock (their little sheet tells you how) so as not to wear out parts double pressing! THE BAD: The THING THAT IS A TRULY HORRIBLE DESIGN is they didn’t make the face light up with all options illuminated so you can read them. It SHOULD BE that when you set the clock, and it shines, so should all the option. You honestly CANNOT READ THE OPTIONS. They are written in tiny white inset and we have to keep a flashlight on top of this unit to read Microwave, Broil, Convection, Hot-Air Fry, Times, etc. They JUST HAD TO KNOW it was impossible to read!!! THE UGLY: You’re stuck with it. I contacted GE & there is noting you are doing wrong if you can’t read the Face panel. Get a magnetic flashlight to stick it on the side of this unit! THE GOOD: Microwave Function seems great (so far) and you can adjust the watts. Convection Function is just a dream & is really an addition Air Fryer! Hot-Air fryer perfect (although people seem to not know whether the pan is for frying food or is a drip pan underneath (or both). Instructions don’t say how they are used for each of the Four Functions. What is strange is getting use to putting things metal in a microwave or forgetting to remove metal pans when switching to Microwave (BE CAREFUL). I do this by reminding myself “Now I’m switching to BROIL”, “Now I’m using CONVECTION Commands”. “Oh back to Microwave and are all Metals out?” Retrain yourselves! You can save A LOT of counter-space by having this one unit replace four! CONCLUSION, this might be a great item once GE corrects: Option Panel Illumination (or lack thereof), Open Catch, and Turntable. I’d say, go with the 4-n-1 Panasonic (rates #1). GE is #3.

So Versatile
Admit, I bought this oven primarily for its size, but am finding its versatility impressive. The, “combi,” mode, in particular, makes for the best mixed vegetable dishes. I cook raw, cut up, seasoned and olive oil spritzed root veggies for twelve minutes, then add frozen vegetables to the same glass roasting pan, spritz once more, toss and cook for another twelve to fourteen minutes and they’re delicious. The air fry mode works well, too. The oven is quiet, and the lights are not annoyingly bright. Am finding the buttons easy to read even for my older eyes (I don’t cook in the dark) and the hot oven warning beep stops immediately upon pushing the, “cancel/off,” button. Looks nice on the counter, too. Overall, consider it a fabulous value and a fine replacement for my microwave. Am thoroughly enjoying this new oven.

Very nice multi-function microwave!
Great microwave and all functions work perfectly. The ONLY thing it doesn't have that I would like is there is no backlighting on the buttons. I put a little white dot next to a couple of buttons. Even with that issue, I give it 5 stars. Very happy we purchased this one.

A few very, very annoying things......
I searched for some time for a new microwave. I settled on this one for a few reasons. Optics - it closely resembled the one I had to replace, GE is a tried & trusted brand, & had extra features. It is very quiet while running. It heats things much faster than my previous one, and has options that are very handy to have. Basically I have 2 complaints. If I had known them - I very well may have continued looking. The key pad is very, very hard to see unless it is in a very bright room. It isn't backlit, and the color of the letters aren't bright enough from the color of the keypad to stand out. It seems like the buttons people use most often should be at the top or bottom corners of the keypad. Since the keypad is so difficult to see - you can't just walk up to it and push the 30 second button without really scrutinizing for the location of the button. Very annoying! A microwave is supposed to be quick and convenient. Unless you have xray vision - that isn't going to happen. The other problem I have with it is that you have to press the buttons toward the bottom left of that button - or you'll be pressing forever with no results! And even then, you have to press it in just the right spot. You can forget about just walking up to the unit and pressing the button you want and get results. It's like "hit & miss". Just hope you get the right spot. I can't tell you how many things that have gotten way to hot because I didn't press the button in just the right spot before it shut off! If I had known, it would have been a dealbreaker.

Works well
Works great, I need to replace a microwave, that quit. I already owed an air fryer, that was taking up room counter on my and was hard to clean. We decide to buy this one. It fits in the built in spot my microwave was in and I got rid of my air fryer and freed up space on my counter. I have used the microwave, air fryer, conv. oven, and thawing. We use it about 4-5 times per week. Best part, its easier to clean than the other air fryer.
