Emerson Portable CD Player Boombox with Cassette Player

Purchased this is a gift for my sister. I can definitely tell you she loved it. She loved the sound. The price was very reasonable is why I bought it for her for her birthday. I definitely would recommend it if anyone wanted to buy it and I love the fact that you had to cassette the CD player all in one and you could play your old music on it still loved it. She said she loved it.

This boombox is very 1980s. No remote. Who cares. Sounds awesome. Fills a room with sound fine. I have tried about 4 stereos from Amazon in the past couple of months. All had this terrible software enhanced bass sound. Too muddled and deep. They produced a dark, murky sound. The sound of this device is clear, and crisp. It has the "Sony style" xbass button. Sounds full, but not overbearing. An excellent choice for classical/jazz music. The true size is not listed in the description. It is approximately 9in high, 17in long, and 7in deep. It's a shelf stereo with a handle. Attached or detached speakers. All plastic, but not cheesy. Cassettes play perfect too. Auto shut off. Stores 20 AM or FM stations. You won't miss the remote. You will be in the same room with it anyway. For the oldsters out there, its functionality will be very reminiscent, and simple. All very 80s and easy. It actually could be an Emerson product from the 1980s. All of its functions were available circa 1987. Nostalgic, cute, and sounds very good at the price point. Plays tapes, CDs, and radio. No Bluetooth, but aux in for phone or MP3. This device is definitely for a retro-loving individual. Good choice for a smaller device that definitely does the job. Enjoy!!

An ideal gift for a GenXer. They recall the nostalgic world of the boom box, and this boom box has all the features that take it from event to event and room to room. Whether using it near poolside, or in the workout room, or even playing Christmas carols under the tree, the sound quality and portability is there. Even having it available in the event of an emergency power outage makes it worthwhile.

The CD and cassette players work well, and the sound quality is good. Radio reception was not as good as expected. Did not pick up some of my favorite stations. I like the compact size and portability.

Assembly was quick and easy. The CD player played without problem and the radio has good reception. Now the bad cassette play is flat out horrible. Timing on the motors is off and it ate the first cassette in 10 seconds. Thinking it may have been the cassette not the player I inserted a 2nd. Instantly you could see one wheel turning and the other skipping. I tried rewinding a cassette and within seconds the player bound up tight. Obviously the durability ranks 0 stars. The sound quality is nearly as bad. I have power tool radios that have equal or better sound quality. Sadly this is a black eye on any Emerson product. They used to produce value products that lasted a fair amount of time. This one will prevent me from buying anything with their name on it.

This was what I needed. Very compact, radio reception is great, and it have all the functions that I need ie radio, cd and cassette player.

Works great! My husband has this out in his shop playing Ozzy cds.

Purchased this as a gift for my dad who wanted to play all his old cassettes. The sound on this is really good. For the size of the house, it has good sound. When asked for feedback from him, he stated that he really liked it. He likes the sound. If he had to get one again, he would have no problem getting another one like this.
