Hard wearing comfortable walking shoes
Bought for the rocker sole these are good waterproof shoes. They take orthotics easily with removable insoles. Very comfortable and have excellent quality material. Pleased with buying them and keep them looking well with wax on the leather pieces

Very comfortable for wide feet
Targhees are the only boot for me because I have wide flat feet and these come in a wide fitting. They're comfortable out of the box and need no breaking in (I take the insoles out and use custom orthotics because of my flat feet and knee problems). They're lightweight as well which is nice but still have good hiking boot soles to cope with rough stony paths and the ankle support is good without being oppressive so you can drive a car in them without discomfort. The lacing system works very well, nowadays I simply use the lacing pattern that they come with but, in the past I've changed it with success. They only have two speedgrips but you don't need more - once they're laced on they stay laced and there is no aggravation with the laces coming undone as the speedgrips take the tension off the knot. They're grippy on wet grass and mud (I live in Nofolk so it's all zoil and grass) and even better on stony stuff when I go on holiday. My last two pairs have been very good for waterproofing, before that the waterproofing gave up before the boot did and the Targhee 3 seems generally more durable than the previous Targhee 2, in particular the rand now protects the boot from splitting. The only thing is that I need a new pair after 9 months as they simply wear out - the soles wear down so that slipping on wet grass starts to become an issue and the uppers start to fail around the rand. However the Thing is that I wear these every day for three dog walks seven days a week right through the year (yes they get a bit sweaty in high Summer but they breathe pretty well). As I clock around 4 miles per day that's around 1,100 miles so I don't mind having to replace them. If you just used them at the weekend and on holiday they'd last you years.

Comfortable and waterproof
I wanted a pair of everyday lightweight boots for summer dog walking, they had to be waterproof, comfortable and modestly priced these ticked all the boxes. Have worn them for two weeks they fit like glove and the heel grip system works, they have mid size toe box, measurements available on Keen website.Have walked through long wet grass and hosed them off to clean them, no sign of water penetration so far. They look robust and the smooth Nubuck looks good after applying G-wax. Probably not the most popular colour hence a good price but who cares when they are wet and muddy! Update; have had the boots for 28 months and used them regulary, estimate over 1500 miles walking, sadly they have reached the end of their useful life. The faux rubeerrised textile rand was the weak point. started to crack and diintegrate after about 18 months but has now failed structurally. Amazingly, although the waterproof liner is exposed .the boots are still waterproof!

Comfortable
Really pleased with these boots. There's plenty of room in the toe box. I took a chance and walked with them in a wet Dartmoor without trying them out on shorter walks. They performed brilliantly, comfortable all day and no wet feet.

Comfortable boot
Having just bought these boots I did a 10k walk the other day and they were fine. As an older person with large feet I am just happy to find a pair of boots that fit !

Coming apart before walking in them.
Having searched and reviewed the market for months I decided to try a pair of Keen Targhee III Mid WP boots. I opened the box as soon as they were delivered and, before even removing the boots, I could see areas where the sole is supposed to be bonded to the uppers coming away. Unfortunately I don't think these boots would even put up with walking the dog let alone hiking up trails and hills. On close inspection they are a cheaply made boot that would not be in any way durable.

Waterproof and comfortable
Got these in warehouse deal for around £60 a year ago and now clicked up over 1000km. They were comfortable from the first wear and have remained waterproof. Wear on soles and slight cracking on synthetic upper section but no issues for waterproof or grip. At 8.5 UK size these are true to size for me with the added benefit of generous toebox. Much better fit than Salomon for e.g. which I find way too narrow. I have bought a second pair for when these retire but will see how far they will last. UPDATE. The 2023: Retired this pair at around 1200km and moved on to a second pair. These are now over 600km mainly winter use and doing great. Looking for a third pair now despite having merrell moab on standby. UPDATE 2025: Bought another pair in 2023 and started wearing them late 2024. They replaced a pair of Scarpa Terra GTX which I racked up 1939km by which time the soles became too slippy. Swapped these for my third pair of Targhees which as of 1 October 2025 have 1528km in. They are holding up really well, rand is still intact and soles showing wear but safe. I'll keep wearing into winter when I have another pair bought in warehouse deal ready to replace. Despite allof the negative reviews I have had a number of pairs of these which have been good or in current case exceptional particularly taking into account purchases around £65 mark.

So far…. So so far. So good
I wore these straight out of the box, and went on a 22 mile hike. Up and down peaks, through mud, scrambling up and down large rocks and gritstone edges, and through a bog by accident The boots have kept my feet dry, and comfortable, with no leakage, great grip, and they are light enough that I haven’t noticed the weight. I haven’t really thought about them all day except to pray they are as waterproof as they state. In the bog, they were, although 24 hours later, they still look to be slightly wet. The one thing I do notice about Keen Targhee III (i have the shoe version as well), is that small stones can get stuck in the sole near the ball of the foot when the shoes bends as you step forward.
