Lightweight and quick feel
I picked up this Logitech G305 for my son as he's getting ready to head off to college, and it has been a great choice. He'll be using it with his gaming laptop, and it offers everything he needs without adding extra clutter to his setup. The mouse is lightweight, responsive, and feels very smooth in use. The wireless connection is fast and reliable, and not having to deal with cords is a huge plus, especially in a dorm room where desk space can be limited. Tracking is accurate, clicks feel crisp, and it responds quickly during gaming sessions. We've had excellent experiences with Logitech products over the years. Most of our mice and headsets are Logitech, and they've consistently delivered great performance and reliability. The G305 continues that tradition. If you're looking for a quality wireless gaming mouse that performs well and won't break the bank, this is an easy recommendation

Logitech is the best!
Logitech are top quality. This mouse is great. It's smooth, responsive, versatile. I use it for gaming, and it works perfectly. The scroll wheel is smooth and has fast reactivity. The sensitivity is high, as soon as you move the mouse a little bit the cursor starts moving. The quick change speed button is optimal. I love being able to change the speed of my cursor, to slow it down for browsing and speed it up for gaming. The placement of the thumb buttons is excellent and they are smooth and click very well. The mouse fits my hand nicely and is comfortable to hold for extended periods. If you're looking for a good mouse for a decent price, this is it. I just can't justify spending hundreds on a mouse.

Excellent Wireless Gaming Mouse with Amazing Battery Life
The Logitech G305 Lightspeed is one of the best wireless gaming mice I’ve used, especially for the price. The mouse is lightweight, comfortable, and responsive, making it great for both gaming and everyday use. The HERO sensor tracks accurately and consistently, and the adjustable DPI settings make it easy to customize for different games and tasks. The Lightspeed wireless connection feels just as responsive as a wired mouse, with no noticeable lag or connectivity issues. I also appreciate the six programmable buttons, which are easy to configure and add extra convenience for gaming and productivity. One of the standout features is the incredible battery life. Being able to use the mouse for months on a single AA battery is a huge advantage and eliminates the need for constant charging. The onboard memory is another nice touch, allowing settings to stay saved even when switching between computers. Overall, the G305 offers excellent performance, comfort, reliability, and value. Whether you’re a casual gamer, competitive player, or simply looking for a dependable wireless mouse, this is an outstanding choice that I would happily recommend.

Decent mouse but not really anything above average about it = UPGRADED REVIEW
Over time this mouse has grown on me. My initial mouse well, the wheel started to act up. I took it apart and cleaned it to no avail. It was VERY WELL USED though (from me) and lasted a long time. So, I had a chance to buy a new mouse with 6 ACTUAL (read: extra) programmable buttons, not just a couple side buttons and DPI changer... I bought two more of these. Truth is, I don't need more. The price of a the newer programmable mice seems to have gone up where these have stayed the same. I purchased the two of these for less than I'd have paid for one of what I was eyeballing. I was initially unhappy with feeling mislead and I guess it's a matter of perspective. I expect "programmable buttons" to be extra programmable buttons. I'm a coder. Have been since 12, over 2 decades. I can reprogram every button on my keyboard at the lowest level making it a 100+ "programmable button keyboard" ... So, I stand by the fact that they need to not count the left click, right click and wheel button as "programmable buttons". They're standard buttons. BUT, this has grown on me big time. My wrists aren't great. From physical labor I did while younger to countless hours on the computer typing code and such, they can hurt pretty bad. The same with my fingers. This mouse is just the right size. It's real comfortable (for me). I have the two side buttons set for switching workspaces on linux and on Windows I have different configurations for all of the buttons in various VR games as it's easier than trying to find a keyboard key "blind". My old one with the "bad" wheel isn't totally bad. The wheel just kind of goes the opposite direction at times. It's a little annoying. Otherwise it works fine. I'm keeping it for parts for the two new ones I got. So for around a hundred bucks, maybe a little more, I've 3 of them that combined I'll be able to use for half a decade or more and I'm on my computer constantly for work. I'm going to be more careful to keep the wheel clean this time before the internals can be worn down and I wouldn't be surprised if they lasted even longer. The battery life is great BTW. I can't say how long. Too long to track. Pretty good for a single battery, I know that much. So, while I wasn't initially happy, my mind changed over time. No it's not all lit up ... which I don't care for. I actually disable the LEDs in my tower even... I'm not sure why there has to be LEDs in everything but whatever... That saves 10-30 bucks on a mouse anyway. It doesn't have as many buttons as it could but, when required I have it tied to shell scripts I've created and tied to i3wm for some very fancy stuff. If you're adequate with a computer, these will work perfectly well. BTW, my first one got slammed dozens of times and never broke... ya, I hate bugs in my code. So, they're solid :) Enjoy. ----------- OLD: This is one where only I am to blame. Reading "6 programmable buttons" I expected six additional buttons. I had gone over so many keyboards/mice that day, one could say I purchased this mindlessly. It's a decent mouse. It feels good in my hand but, there's nothing special about it. The "six" buttons include the standard two you press, as well as the third (wheel), two side buttons and another center one for DPI which I actually do like. So, all I've done with this mouse is use Piper on linux to set the side buttons to switching desktops. Nothing I couldn't have done with any of my other multiple wireless mice with the same amount of buttons, lower price tag and as (or more) solid of a feel. I won't say I'm disappointed. It matches the keyboard I bought. Just be careful when you read. Some products list the programmable buttons that are only the EXTRA programmable buttons (such as my keyboard). Some apparently include even the basic buttons that every piece of hardware like it has. Again though, I should have read more but I will say if you're looking for a truly programmable mouse, look elsewhere. You're not going to want to change more than 2 (maybe 3) of the buttons on this which I feel is what they should have listed.

Great gaming mouse!
I am a Logitech fan, but bought a low quality gaming mouse and regretted every minute of the 3 months I made my arthritic hand suffer. I finally got this Logitech G305 a couple days ago and I (and my hand) are SO HAPPY! It's a perfect fit for my hand, with easy access during gaming to use side buttons and wheel. What I really love is the firmness of the wheel, both clicking it and for scrolling. The wheel has good grip and is far enough back from the edge of the mouse to not get accidentally clicked/rolled. The 4 speed options are great. The battery is way to install and the on/off switch underneath ensures battery life is good. I prefer the extra weight of a battery operated mouse vs chargeable. It is still a lightweight mouse, but I feel like I have more control of it for fast gaming situations. Grip is good, I didn't need to put my stick on grip tape on it. Love the green & purple colors! I have large hands for a female but this mouse fits perfectly in my hand with my fingers not struggling to reach the left/right controls, and not having to rotate the mouse to use the side buttons. So very happy! I play D4 so the mouse gets a workout during play as it holds 90% of my controls.

Great wireless mouse.
Great price, responsiveness and configurability. I cannot speak to the durability just yet, but this mouse has insane levels of sensitivity. Works great on Linux and I'd also recommend using piper to configure it. Work or play this mouse gets the job done. I'll update after a while.

Maybe best price/performance on market
I rated 5/5 because I think what you get for the money is good, not because it's perfect (at the time of writing I paid $30 including shipping). I'm going to rate the aspects important to me in a mouse on a scale of 10 and give a brief description why, as someone who games competitively. Shape/Form: 9/10 Medium-size form factor. Nothing innovative here but it doesn't have to be. It's comfortable to use and cups in the palm nicely. Weight: 8/10 I'm still not sure if there's a point where a mouse can be TOO light. I personally haven't found that point yet. I've used lighter mice than this and didn't notice much of a difference. I don't feel any extra fatigue using this one. Make no mistake though, this is a light mouse. Buttons: 9/10 It's not loaded with a bunch of extra buttons and I like that. Buttons are what a keyboard is for, not a mouse. That said it has robust mapping options in the software for the buttons it does have. I don't do any special mappings but it's nice the option's there. I had to dock a point for the left and right click. I find the pressure threshold for clicking is TOO sensitive, to the point the mere gravity of my finger resting on the buttons engages a click. This resulted in me needing to permanently flex back my index and ring fingers so they wouldn't trigger clicks. As a result I had to fold up a little piece of paper and slide it under the corners of the buttons to increase the pressure.. This was an easy hack so it doesn't really bother me. It would be nice to have some mechanism to adjust click pressure in future models though. Wireless: 8/10 The reception is good, it feels about as responsive as a wired mouse. I'll only very occasionally get some response stalling for a 1/4 cm of movement of the mouse before it registers. And this only seems to happen if the cursor sits in the same position for a prolonged period of time. You also have to use a special dongle. It's not the end of the world and I understand it's for better performance, but it takes up another slot in your usb real estate and it would be nicer if I could use 1 dongle for all my peripherals instead of 2. DPI: 8/10 This thing advertises 12K DPI and I bought it as a replacement for their 1K DPI standard logi mouse I got for $20. I have no way to test this but it doesn't feel 12x faster. At max settings it feels 2x faster or AT MOST 3x. Now it could be some of this dpi is being used for smoother transitions between points of movement and it does feel smoother and less choppy than the $20 logi. It's max speed setting is pretty good though. It's hard to imagine you'd want much faster than this. It could still be smoother though and if it is indeed 12K dpi as advertised then I could imagine even higher dpi's could be beneficial for the most elite levels of gaming. I think I'd prefere just a touch more sensitivity myself but this is very usable for competitive gaming and I think this would meet the demands of 99.9% of gamers. Closing Thoughts: Good mouse for the money. In the consumer electronics space in general I'd like to see some independent labs open up to test these electronics and confirm their claims of performance. I think logitech is a reputable company and I'm inclined to trust this mouse wields 12K dpi, but how could I ever confirm this? The residential electronics market has already solved this with the common UL (UnderwriterLabs) symbol marking system. This is a seal of quality and an independent confirmation of performance by an independent lab. This ensures reliable performance and protects the consumer against fraud. The current system we have for consumer electronics of relying on reviewers to write (potentially compromised) sponsored reviews is inadequate at this point. There are too many devices out there and the research expected of a single consumer to sift through this endless catalog is far too much.

Great mouse BUT needs a AAA lithium battery
Great mouse. Simple looking, good feel, just like my prodigy g203 with no RGB which is great for work and professional settings. The only recommendation I would make is to switch out the AA battery for a AAA lithium with a plastic AAA to AA shell. It significantly reduces the weight, and I honestly don’t know why logi didn’t make this mouse with a AAA lithium in mind. It’s pretty game changing and highly recommended.

Great value
I was so happy with this mouse that I bought a second one to use at work! It's not very fancy for a gaming mouse (no RGB and only 3 extra buttons), but I don't care. I use it for gaming (first person shooters and strategy) and for work and I am very pleased with the weight, battery life, and accuracy. It is definitely a claw-grip style mouse as it is not very big/wide.
