I am an actor currently in college. I take an acting class where I'm bound to do a dramatic scene where I need to cry, and it finally came up. I'm one of those people who doesn't cry very often, so it's really hard for me to summon that emotion on stage. In fact, it's impossible for me to naturally cry on cue. I've used very overpriced tear sticks from high-end theater makeup brands and they work, but they are not something I want to keep spending $40 on. I decided to give these a shot because $16 for two is an amazing deal! Let me tell you, these tear sticks work like a charm. I put the menthol formula on my cheekbones, about an inch below my eyes. I start producing tears immediately. I'm very used to tear sticks, so the irritation that the menthol causes isn't very painful to me anymore. For first-time users, this burns and stings in your eyes. I recommend applying the formula lower than you think you need to (like two inches below your eyes) in order to reduce the intensity of the menthol vapors. As you get used to the formula and it takes more to make you tear up, you can apply it higher up on your face. The tear stick formula also lasts long enough to get through a crying scene and produce tears the entire time. It also makes my nose run, which is just even more realistic. Your eyes get red too. To be completely clear, this doesn't make you cry. It makes you produce tears. You have to do the sobbing, sniffling, crying sounds, etc, yourself. So you still have to act. Also, be sure to keep your eyes open without blinking while your eyes are welling up right after you put it on. The menthol works a lot better if you don't blink. Overall, this is an awesome product and I 100% recommend it to actors!

Definitely strong and do not want to place it too close to your eyelid/water line. Burns if you do. but does help create the tears. I would suggest using eyedrops before using this so when the tears start flowing, your eye are not red all the time. Especially for actors.

Work very well. Be careful of how much you use. If you use too much it will irritate your eyes so much that it will interfere with your performance. Experiment with it so that you find the correct balance for your chemistry.

This is perfect when I used it I started sobbing. The only thing though is that it burns so if you have sensitive skin do not use this.
